foreclosures: Homeownership Is Down...I Think I Have the Answer! - 02/01/11 05:22 AM
I own a home in Ocean Isle Beach and today, I showed the property to a couple who had moved from New Jersey to North Carolina a few years ago.  They bought a new home in a big box development and then the house in Jersey didn't sell so they rented it.  Next, renter moved out and they couldn't re-rent so they allowed it to go to foreclosure.
What did they care?  They were already living in their new home.  According to them, they tried to re-fi recently and they are just tired of paying on an upside down mortagage that … (4 comments)

foreclosures: The Nerve of Some of these Buyers/Renters!!!! - 01/25/11 02:32 PM
In my area, we seem to be getting a large number of "out of state" lookers who are moving to North Carolina.  I don't want to bad-mouth any state so just let's say...they're arrogant.  The problem is...they don't seem to understand that their financial issues will follow them.  They go on and on about their wonderful home and all that they have and how much they hate to leave.  I keep it to myself but I just as soon they stay out of my state. Regularly, our agents receive calls about foreclosures at the beach.  We just don't have that many near the water and our short sales are not as plentiful as they once were.  I happen to own some property in North Myrtle Beach in a gorgeous community (Sunset Harbour) on the waterway.  This is a community with homes from upper 200,000 to upper $2,000,000.  When the Stones first developed the property, they wanted an upscale community for professionals and their families.  With the boom we experienced a few years ago, people were buying lots and homes who truly could not afford to live … (2 comments)

foreclosures: Foreclosures? On the Sunset Beach? On Ocean Isle Beach? - 04/12/10 02:38 PM

I guess we are lucky.  At current time our MLS in Brunswick County is not showing any foreclosures on Sunset Beach or Ocean Isle Beach.  We do have two bank owned properties for sale on Ocean Isle Beach.  To those who don't know that means the property has gone through the lengthy foreclosure process and is owned by the bank.  390 East Second Street is a 5 bedroom home priced at $475,000 and 83 East Second Street is a 4 bedroom home located at the head of the canal T and just across from the beach access.  The best buys may come … (1 comments)

foreclosures: Cars in the Parking Lot on Sunset Beach Island!!!! - 03/13/10 01:54 PM
What a beautiful day at Sunset Beach today...just gorgeous.  Tourist shops are starting to open in preparation for spring break.  Brunswick County is waking up in preparation to the end of the winter.I had floor duty on the island today and it was so nice to actually see cars in the public parking lot.  People were on the beach and fisherman were fishing off the shoreline. Of course, they were wearing waders. This will be one winter I will be happy to see the end of.  For the past several winters, my roses have bloomed all during the winter.  This year, I probably … (3 comments)
