fun: My Closing Almost Didn't Happen Because of an ANKLE MONITOR - 01/29/13 02:52 AM
I'm anxiously awaiting for my closing that occurred on Friday to fund today.  We had a client approved for the mortgage, but at closing there were issues.  But this time, it wasn't the typical closing issues, the seller forgot to tell his probation officer that he was moving.  If he left the residence he'd be arrested.  So we spent all day Friday and Monday anxiously awaiting for the funding.
It seems that the seller was arrested and can't move without getting permission.  So, by the end of the day yesterday, we believe that the seller did get the probation officer to … (61 comments)

fun: Don Corleone Has Nothing on Me! - 01/24/13 02:54 AM
There's a lot of responsibility when you're the head of THE FAMILY. Sure....I didn't really set out to do this. Just wanted to hang with the family, but when Don Vito Corleone went down, I got the
THE GODFATHER....OF "THE FAMILY." I will tell you that I never thought that Facebook would do this to me, but, now, I'm growing into this role and frankly, it's quite hard to shake.
Let me take you back a year or so..... I decided that since I don't have a common name like Johnson, Smith or Jones, we needed a place on Facebook … (10 comments)

fun: Friday Night Tunes - Where's Wayne's World When You need it? - 01/06/12 04:22 PM
OK.....sure it's cliche. Sure it's a golden oldies, but when I did my You Tube search for the best music videos of all time, this was hanging out there as number four. At least #4 in my search. So I was thinking Where's Wayne's World When you need it most? Party On Wayne.....Party On Garth!!!! … (4 comments)

fun: A Short and Sweet Saturday Morning Humor 1, 2, 3 - 08/20/11 06:16 AM
The economy is so bad that I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail. CEO's are now playing miniature golf. Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen. Angelina Jolie adopted a child from America. Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore. A picture is now only worth 200 words. They renamed Wall Street "Wal-Mart Street". Finally, I called the Suicide Hotline... I got a call center in Pakistan and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck! … (8 comments)

fun: Saturday Fun - I totally Want to Do This! - 04/16/11 02:25 PM
YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS FULL SCREEN....REALLY! I'm doing part II first. Part I will be on wordless Wednesdays. Here's something that I'd love to do. Just so cool for me. I've seen this quite a bit lately. You drop 3 times slower by wearing these wingsuits instead of just a parachute. I've done sky diving before, but this would be nothing short of insane. As an extreme sports enthusiast, the two sports that I haven't done......Hang Gliding and Wingsuiting. Man does this look cool......120 MPH without a motor. Can you say..."how cool is that?" … (10 comments)

fun: 1 Week after Dodd-Frank, I'm...... - 04/09/11 09:40 AM
Today....I've worked, worked and worked.  I wanted to make sure that I got my work done as the temperature was to climb from a balmy 41 to today's temp of somewhere in the 70s with the 80s hitting us tomorrow.
We did all of our outside work this morning; We did all of our homework this morning; I did office work early this afternoon, and tonight, I'll probably relax and take it easy a bit.... Just so amazing.  Winter has left and Summer seems to have arrived a bit early.  I hope not too early as I can't stand the hot … (7 comments)

fun: 23,000,000 Views Can't be Wrong....This is worth the Watch!!!! - 01/15/11 05:48 AM
I saw this guy on Nightline about a year ago. This guy was just doing this for fun. He worked a job so that he could ride his bike whenever and however. He hated work. He just did it to pay for his bike addiction. Then, Lo and behold, someone discovered him. You see he and his friend had been doing this and filming for quite a bit. Pretty insane stuff. Once he got discovered, he's been hired by all these major corporations to ride for them in some commercial or sort. Insane? You bet! Crazy? Too crazy for me, but … (17 comments)

fun: Speechless Sundays - Party Central - 01/09/11 03:36 AM just a few hours the Packers will be lining up to beat the Philadelphia Eagles.  We just got back from church this morning and my youngest, Tessa, got these glasses that were in my Christmas gifts to me and put them on.  All I could think of was "boy is she getting primed for the Packer win today."  Good enough for her, then good enough for me.  Can you say

fun: The True Digital Story of the Nativity!!!!! - 12/24/10 01:00 AM serious. So somber. So Holy this Christmas! I couldn't resist this from my brother! It's a great reminder on why I'm on Active Rain and every other social network. I'm amazed that Jesus and the 12 disciples didn't use social networking the way that we do. Can you imagine Jesus getting google juice or lots of face time on facebook? Have fun with this! I sure did. … (4 comments)

fun: Tell Me Why I DON'T LIKE MONDAYS! - 12/09/10 04:31 PM
So, this past Sunday, I'm late night listening to some Bob Geldolf. I'm hearing the classic on You Tube. I also find a great version with he and Bon Jovi. I'm thinking to myself I don't want Monday to come this week. Then, I read all the Pop Ups on the Video and was stunned as to what the video was all about.... Recently, this was covered in a Fox TV show. I'm thinking from, You Tube, that it's House, but I've never seen a single episode, so I'm just stabbing here! I'll follow with a fun one for Friday! … (3 comments)

fun: Wordless Wednesdays - Clowning Around - 12/08/10 01:37 AM

So my boy does this whole circus theme at school.  Every year each kindergarten class does the circus.  Needless to say, this year, Grant was the clown.  Grant's the fourth out of our 5 and, by far, the least shy of the crew.  He lit the room up and was one of the stars of the show.  I'm not saying that because I'm the parent.  I'm saying that because he was.  The other three barely wanted to be seen, but not G.  He was all over it....and loved every minute of it!  So did Mom and dad!

fun: Hysterical....If you came from a big family!!!! - 08/12/10 03:19 AM
Off Topic? You Bet! Funny, no, hysterical yes. If you came from a big family, then you will know the drill here. I have a dry sense of humor and it takes a lot for me to laugh. Having said that, this video should crack you up. For those of you that want to get straight to the point (like me), take the time to watch this. It's worth the six minutes. You'll crack up. I know that I did. … (7 comments)

fun: Speechless Sundays - Family Mohawks!!!!! - 07/11/10 04:21 PM

This was my favorite year during the 4th EVER!  We love letting our hair down and getting away.  This year, however, my kids begged me to get a mohawk with them.  I argued against it, but I have to tell you I wanted one.  When they told me that I wouldn't see anyone I knew because we were going out of town, I was all in.  For the first time in my life, I was sporting a pretty cool Mohawk!  I started grabbing the persona as well!  You should've seen me with my mirror polaroid lenses.  I was one bad … (27 comments)

fun: Banter vs. Sarcasm. If you Banter, I'm yours!!! If you're sarcastic....take a hike! - 01/11/10 12:30 AM
BANTER I've grown to have a few good friends over my 2.5 years in the Rain.  I have written and spoken to a few on more than one occasion as well.  I have a high degree of sincerity and passion in my life for all that I do.  I came from a family of 5 kids.  4 boys and 1 girl.  We were competitive and loved and for the most part turned out as normal as a family of 7 could be.  But we would need "releases" to keep our sanity.  So...with four siblings we found that a quick wit and a … (6 comments)

fun: Halloween....the Aftermath!!!!! - 11/02/09 01:31 PM

Not too often I can go ahead and brag about looking worse than the kids who dress up for Halloween.  However, this Halloween consisted of a lot of fun for the entire family.  On Friday we had the first annual Chili Cook Off.  It was awesome.  We had 10 different types of Chili.  I've never made chili before, but I did make it this night.  Let's say that I didn't make the top 3.
The next day was Halloween.  It was awesome.  Here I am with my oldest son.  He looks really old here.  I'm really not sure who looks … (13 comments)

fun: A Thursday Humor.....From an Attorney - 07/30/09 04:03 PM
I'm a licensed real estate attorney.  But I have litigated in court.  Needless to say.....I have friends who send me this stuff from time to time.  It's good humor meant to keep me and us all humble.  Hope you enjoy.....
These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down andnow published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm whilethese exchanges were actually taking place.       ATTORNEY:   What was the first thing your husband said to you        that morning?       WITNESS:    He said, … (14 comments)

fun: Nancy Pelosi becomes a Saint... - 03/30/09 03:56 PM
Last month on a Saturday afternoon in Washington, D. C., House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's aide visited the Cardinal of the Catholic cathedral.
He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's sermon, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.
The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Pelosi's views." Pelosi's aide then said, "Look. I'll write a check here and now for a … (27 comments)

fun: A daddy kid's day to remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 08/17/08 01:35 PM
Wow...had the greatest Daddy kid day ever!!!  Very simple, but totally what the Bettag family and the rest of America seems to be missing nowadays.  Today the entire family went to church first thing in the am.  Thereafter, I gave mom the morning off.  She went out to eat by herself and we had a quick breakfast.  I had my 9 year old babysit the 7, 5, 3, and 1 year old while I had a business call.  He watched them in the house while I had my business call on my cellphone in the driveway.
AFTERWORDS, I took the 9, … (8 comments)

fun: Boys Fantasy - - - Client Appreciation and Saint Louis Rams, Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers - 07/27/08 03:23 PM
Helped someone relocate here from Wisconsin a few years back.  He since relocated back to Wisconsin about 9 months ago and is in charge of fundraising or major gift giving of a Wisconsin University.  Needless to say, he called me and said that he wanted to invite my wife and 2 of my 6 children.
We're going to go to Concordia University on Tuesday to watch the Saint Louis Rams football practice even though we're hard core Packer Backers.  For a 9 and 7 year old, it's still huge.  Afterwords, we have some club or box seats for the Brewers/Cubs game … (4 comments)
