politicians: United States Representative Mark Kirk Announces Bid for Illinois Senate - 07/22/09 12:09 AM
This news jujst came out yesterday.  But in purportedly would be the biggest news in current Illinois government poliitics, Representative Mark Kirk is Officially in the U.S. Senate Race to replace Roland Burris.  As most people know, Illinois politics are as controversial as they get.  It seems that both parties are not trying to throw out "clean" people to run not only for Ex Governor Blagojevich's Governor position, but now that by the one that used to be held by Obama and Burris.
As Reported by the Chicago Tribune.

U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk officially in Senate race

politicians: High School differences between 1959 and 2009 - 06/09/09 05:07 AM
Scenario 1: Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack. 1959 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack. 2009 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers. Scenario 2: Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school. 1959 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up … (14 comments)

politicians: So I contact Obama's Replacement, Roland Burris - 05/05/09 01:22 AM
So, being the politically active person that I am, I decide to let my representatives and Senators know my opinions on certain topics that have serious consequences to everyone within the state of Illinois.  Some topics, obviously, will affect not only me and my family but our children and the generations to come.  Sooooooooooooooooooo......I've written all of our state senators and my local representatives.  Each has received a number of personal comments back to me agreeing or disagreeing with what I've written to them.  I'm sure some comments are actually done by the reps and some by staffers.  I have had some … (12 comments)

politicians: Obama's Leadershp Spurs increase in New gun purchases - 04/20/09 01:27 AM
Just met with some people that I've know for over 30 years.  Well respected attorneys and doctors in our community that have the highest peer and public ratings.  While I was meeting with each, both (independently of each other) mentioned that in the last 30 days they had gone out and purchased a hand gun.  One of the individuals is a married father of 5.  The other is a retired father of 5.
I know what you're thinking...these guys are whack jobs.  I have a shotgon for trap shooting, shooting at the farm and for some occasional pheasant hunting, but have … (21 comments)

politicians: Crime in Illinois - The Cook County Predatory Lending Database - 02/26/09 01:56 PM
The National Joke is the politics in Illinois.  First, you have George Ryan spending time in the big house for crimes against the tax payer.  Then Obama gets elected leaving Chicago almost bankrupt and Illinois on the way to a record $11 Billion Dollar deficit.  Rod Blagoevich-after the impeachment (AN IMPEACHMENT-WITHOUT A TRIAL (ANOTHER MAJOR JOKE)).  Well Rod has been the hit of the national speaking circuit since being freed from "serving our state, while his predecessor is serving time in minimum security learning macrame in an orange jump suit.
THAT BRINGS US TO NOW:
Roland Burris- Illinois' new senator that … (7 comments)

politicians: A British View on the Obama Victory - 02/04/09 12:41 AM
I'm not there to start controversy.  The election is over and I'm praying for the success of our president.  However, I just recieved this article from a National British Newspaper, THE DAILY MAIL, from London who wrote this editorial.  I don't care if you're a McCain or an Obama guy.  Obama won...deal with it.  I was never a McCain fan as Republicans had much better choices.  Bush was great at protecting our country, but not much else.
However, I will say that this editorial makes some pretty strong points and now that the democrats rule the United States, people need to … (13 comments)

politicians: Blagojevich is Gone As Illinois Governor - 01/30/09 01:30 AM
It's not like it wasn't expected.  The man who governed Illinois is now a civilian for the first time in 6 years.  Knowing my conservative view, I'm proud to say that I never voted for him in any election.  I'm sorry that it hs come to this, but his time is up.  I have mixed feelings on this even though I never liked him even oine bit.
What really rags me about this is a few things....
I never liked Rod.  I felt that he was a snake.  I hate to admit that I judged someone on his looks and speaking … (18 comments)

politicians: VP Debate Last Night - - - My Take - 10/03/08 02:28 AM
Biden was great in his presentation and didn't stumble at all.  Palin was awesome.  Held her poise and demeanor against a Washinton lifer.
But...the debate results from a tax paying citizen.  Two things came to note:
1)  Biden was kind and courteous in not attacking Palin, but he spent his entire time attacking the Bush administration.  All he wanted to do was, as Palin put it, was to look back at the Bush Administration and tie McCain to it.  Let's be honest, nothing gets done by the president alone and the United States voted for a democrat Congress in 2006.  We … (22 comments)

politicians: Top Dem Endorses McCain....Dems turn on this major dem fundraiser!!!! - 09/18/08 04:01 PM
I was working out yesterday at X-sport in Saint Charles.  While running during my grueling grind, I saw Wolf Blitzer interviewing Lady Forester de Rothschild.  I switched the channel only to hear that she endorsed Republican presidential nominee John McCain on Wednesday.
Speaking to members of the media at the Capitol Hill Club, Rothschild denied that Clinton had any influence over her endorsement decision, stating that the two have not spoken since before the Democratic National Convention in August. Rothschild said her endorsement decision was a personal one and one that came after consideration of the vice presidential picks and convention performances.

politicians: Republican National Convention - - - Sarah Palin = Leadership Now! - 09/03/08 03:51 PM
Giuliani....Awesome
1)  131 times Barack Obama voted "PRESENT"....not yes or no in his tenure in the Chicago Machine!  That's not an executive.
2)  He's lead nothing ever.  Barack is the least experienced candidate in the last 100 years.  It's not a slam...it's just a fact.
3)  John McCain can lead us in times of war.  In economic turmoil.  John McCain doesn't vote "present" and can't as a president.  This is not an option as the president of the United States.  Barack can't vote PRESENT in times of turmoil and war.
4)  No political correctness by Giuliani when saying that "Islamic Terroristics are … (25 comments)

politicians: Obama keeps drifting further from what's RIGHT! - 08/25/08 02:14 AM
Senator Obama blasts the bible. He takes passages and just distorts things. He calls the Sermon on the Mount "so Radical." Give me a break. The only radical is Obama. I'm not a big McCain fan at all. In fact, this year I'm voting against someone as opposed to voting for someone. It's too bad that we don't have candidates with moral conviction and fortitude. Either way, I think that Obama is getting exposed. I only hope that he becomes fully exposed prior to this election

politicians: What politicians really mean in common language - 01/29/08 11:26 PM
The way of the words.  Aren't politicians the best at saying a lot and saying nothing.  Now, maybe I'll run for politics one day and suffer a similar fate.  I ran for the equivalent of being our mayor about 5 years ago.  I lost.  Thankfully so.  I was bummed, but only for about a day or two.  I subsequently went on to have 5 kids.  Something would suffer if I had won.  I did win endorsements from our local papers, but I was so damn blunt.  I love the Mike Ditka approach that it is what it is!  See the quotes and interpretations below.  Then, and only … (9 comments)
