red river: Christmas Eve Fireworks and Torchlight Parade
- 12/15/12 02:39 AM
There is no better way to celebrate Christmas Eve than to watch the torchlight parade as the skiers come down the face of the mountain. After the parade everyone stays to enjoy the fireworks. This has been a tradition at the Red River Ski Area for over 40 years.

red river: Cowboy Christmas Show
- 12/15/12 01:23 AM
Even though we live in a small town, we have always been fortunate to have many events with incredible musical talent. This year Michael Martin Murphey, well known country singer and song writer, will be bringing his Cowboy Country Ball to Red River starting December 28th. One of the original Christmas Balls started in Anson, Texas. The Texas Cowboys’ Christmas Ball Association has announced that the Texas Historical Commission has designated the legendary Texas Cowboys’ Christmas Ball and Pioneer Hall as an Official Texas Historical Event and Site to promote historic preservation and the celebration of Texas history.

red river: Community Christmas Dinner

On Wednesday night, December 12th, Red River will be hosting it's annual Community Christmas Dinner. The theme this year is a Whoville Christmas. Since we are a resort town of only 450 permanent residents, this is the perfect opportunity to get together and celebrate Christmas before all the skiers descend on our town for the holidays. The tradition began over 60 years ago. Some things have changed, but it is still a very important event for our community. In the beginning, the local Women's Club would make all the table decorations and provide the ham along with making cookies for Santa to hand out to the local kids. The (3 comments)
