Our local newspaper, like so many others tends to cite national numbers when reporting on the housing market. We all know that each of our local housing markets is much different. As the old saying goes,"You've gotta know the territory!". A few comparisons for the month of July; Almaden Valley had 38 closed sales in 2009 and 26 in 2010. That's a 32% decline, but let's look further. Once again the pended sales tell us more of the true story. In those same months, 2009 had 34 pended sales while 2010 had 34! I attended the rally yesterday with about 60 other concerned residents. It was not surprising that there were not as many people this time around, as PG&E, and the city have done a lot to downplay and stall theurgency of this event. There are many discrepencies in their reports vs. those of concerned residents,engineers, the Audobon Society, Sierra Club an more, who all had representatives at the rally.

Don't let the trees in our park get cut down! Come make your voice heard. They plan to cut the trees on March 22!!!!! PG&E is planning to cut and remove approximately 140 the trees in T.J. Martin and Jeffery Fontana Parks. The TJ Martin Neighborhood Associatin hosted a well-attended meeting on Thursday, September 10th at the Almaden Winery Center. In attendence, along with nearly 100 residents, were Nancy Pyle, Dolores Carr and and Captain Vaughan Edwards. A few items from the meeting were that since April there were 83 burglaries in the area. Also, the website www.crimereports.com the captain stressed that these include crimes that were reported and not alwaysverified. This information is in each report. This year's festival was very enjoyable. There were opportunities for teens (like my son), and other communitymembers to volunteer helping out as well as some great bands. I was only able to catch 3 of them; The Dead Poser's Society-great music and lots of fun to listen to. Rich Lehman; just moved to LA, very intense, hones and talented Nuthin' Fancy; Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band with 2 Almaden residents that really did sound like the real thing.
