daytona beach real estate: Life on Other Planets - What Do You Believe? Check This Out! - 09/29/10 07:38 PM
I can't remember the last time a bit of news got me this excited. (I'll bet Vegas Bob is jumping up and down right now!)
If you haven't read about the most recently found planet in the "Goldilocks Zone", you have to check out this article... "Could Goldilocks Planet Be Just Right for Life?"  What got me the most excited was this one quote- "...because conditions are ideal for liquid water, and because there always seems to be life on Earth where there is water, Vogt believes that chances for life on this planet are 100 percent."
I don't know about … (8 comments)

daytona beach real estate: Central Florida College Fun! AND-Buy or Sell House or Condo in Daytona Beach Area - 09/20/10 11:02 PM
Yes, once again I've stolen a picture from my daughter's Facebook page. And this one really takes the cake. Her college (located in the Disney area, just over an hour from the Daytona Beach-Port Orange area) has Wi-Fi throughout the campus (supposedly so they can learn more).
Apparently, the general consensus is that this particular class is on the boring side. So during lectures, the kids all get on Skype. Of course they can't use their microphones during class, but they can turn on their web cams, and type into the chat portions. Oh, and they can take still shots too. … (10 comments)

daytona beach real estate: Contract Pending on Daytona Beach area House. Professional REALTOR® Advice for Consumers - 08/10/10 12:27 AM
I'm going to start this post with a bit of info about a sale on one of my real estate listings. But more importantly; I'm going to segue into some very important food-for-thought about how you, as a real estate buyer or a real estate seller, choose a real estate professional to represent you; and hopefully I'll educate you a bit, about the importance of how your REALTOR® handles the many intricacies that happen behind-the-scenes.
At this time, I have a bilateral contract on the house I have listed at 225 Arragon, located on the Holly Hill/Ormond Beach border (just 10 … (6 comments)

daytona beach real estate: Speechless Sunday-Snow in July? ... in Florida!!?? - 07/25/10 04:19 PM
Can it be!??
No, of course not. It's just a Snowy Egret :-D  My brother took this photo. And I think he did a great job on this one (except for the date stamp), so I decided to share it. (This is from the bro who took those crazy weather shots over the ocean!) But this one's much more peaceful. And this little guy doesn't seem to mind if his feathers are getting ruffled.

If you're interested in buying or selling real estate in the Daytona Beach area, I'd love to help. I'm a Daytona Beach native, with experience selling … (14 comments)

daytona beach real estate: Photo Blog - Happy Dolphin! - 07/12/10 11:54 AM
On my last photo post, "Sailing Away, Captain Ron Style" I shared a photo of my husband's Hudson Force 50 sailboat on which he was living when we first met. In keeping with that theme, I decided to share another photo from my hubby's sailing days.
When Mark and his buddy, Mike, who took the trip with him, would sail in open waters, quite frequently there would be herds of dolphins that would swim alongside the boat with them. I've heard many stories of how they'd drop anchor and jump in for a swim with the dolphins. (I think I've been … (18 comments)

daytona beach real estate: 4th of July Celebrations Abound. How About Doing it "Daytona Beach Style"? - 07/01/10 05:56 PM
Today is July 1st. It's almost Independence Day. And in Daytona Beach, that means we'll be overrun by race crowds. As a Daytona Beach native (and REALTOR®) who tends to forget about practically every special event we have, I was reminded of our upcoming Big Race when one of my Jacksonville cousins contacted me via Facebook, to see if they could crash at our house this weekend before heading to the "Coke Zero 400".
So I guess I'll have a house full of relatives tomorrow night, and I'll need to allow for a lot of extra time when showing houses and … (2 comments)

daytona beach real estate: Downtown Daytona Beach Park and Playground by City Island Library, on Intracoastal Waterway - 06/30/10 10:33 PM
Once again I set out to take photos of a specific location, and once again the weather wasn't quite perfect enough. (I'm a bit of a perfectionist.) But I did meet a friendly family in the park at City Island, located directly on the Intracoastal Waterway in Downtown Daytona Beach. You can also walk to the City Island Library, or join the local Kayaking Club, whose headquarters are located in this same area.
So, say hello to Logan. You can also say hello to his mother and sister, Victoria and Abigail.

daytona beach real estate: Photo-Danger and Beauty (and some real estate info too) - 06/13/10 06:25 PM
This is another beautiful photo by my friend Nick. I've been waiting to show this one. I think it's another astounding capture, which seems to be an amazing talent of Nick's. It also make me stop and think about how often beauty is mixed with danger. We all know that bees and other stinging or biting nuisances can be found among flowers. But there are also the dangers of beautiful roses and painful thorns; or to the unsuspecting person, the possibility of accidentally coming into contact with "Stinging Nettles" or "Poison Ivy/Oak/Sumac". Many other instances come to mind, but you get … (15 comments)

daytona beach real estate: SHORT SALE MARKET EVOLUTION - GMAC SOLUTION TO FALSE BUYERS - 02/11/10 02:13 PM
The most arrogant, blatant disregard for the welfare of our real estate buyers and sellers that I've seen so far. And that's saying a lot! Buyers AND Sellers Beware of this short sale plot!

daytona beach real estate: Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings - Sales - Foreclosures for 2009 - 02/07/10 02:07 PM
As a follow-up to my recent post titled "Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings and Sales 2000-2009 Market Reports", I decided to write this post, which shows just how many of the 2009 sales were foreclosures and short sales. Once again, I've included a bar graph. And for statistical purposes, on this graph I've also posted the actual numbers of how many of these real estate sales were along the lines of foreclosures, pre-foreclosures and short sales.

As you can see by the sales numbers, a significant number of the 2009 real estate sales for the city of Daytona Beach were … (2 comments)
