daytona beach realtor: Speechless Sunday-Cracked and Dry-In need of RAIN! - 05/02/10 11:56 AM
Once again, it's my Speechless Sunday post that is not speechless =P
I've had this one saved on my computer for a while. I so frequently see a picture that is like an analogy in itself, of so many other things. When I first saw this one it made me think of the real estate market. But this week, it's makiing me think Active Rain too! With all the server problems that our fearless leaders are so desperately trying to fix (read Bob's blog for updates), we're all feeling frustrated.. and AR feels a bit like a dried out river bed … (3 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Earth Day 2010 - 04/21/10 11:04 AM
It's that time of year again. On April 22, 2010, we all (should) celebrate Earth Day, and the planet with which we've been blessed. It's time once again, to consider how we can do our part to protect our resources.
Hopefully by now, everyone is familiar with the following words...
REDUCE RECYCLE REUSE These 3 words are what we've been hearing for years. But are you really doing your part? Are you taking this seriously? Because it IS serious! We can't just use up our planet and find another one, in spite of what we see on the SyFy channel.

daytona beach realtor: Living In A Shipping Container? - 03/18/10 08:26 AM
After seeing this new type of home, I may have to change part of the footer I use on my blog posts. Perhaps you've noticed, I frequently state that I'm a Daytona Beach Native with experience selling all types of real estate in every city in East Volusia County and beyond. Well, I guess that still may be true... until shipping containers-turned-housing units make their way to Volusia County.
This has got to be one of the most unique, innovative, resourceful types of housing I've ever seen! I wish I could find some copyright-free images to share, but I'm afraid you'll … (7 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Wordless Wednesday- Bet You Can't Guess The Subject - 03/17/10 08:08 PM
OK so yes, you can guess the subject. Because it's my favorite subject... my fabulous, beautiful daughter! =D lol
My last two "Brittany" posts featured her modeling Wedding Gowns, and then a photo shoot for a modeling company that she was working for. This set of photos were specifically for the photographer who was taking the photos. They're promo shots for D.C Photography, aka Danielle.Denise Photography (and fully copyrighted!!!) I love the creativity, and the diversity of these. I hope you like them too =)

Yep. It's my daughter again =D  Not as glamorous as the wedding gown photo shoot, but just as beautiful. But I admit, I am a little biased ;-)

daytona beach realtor: And Out Come the Wolves - 03/05/10 12:13 AM

THE REALITY OF WHAT'S REALLY HAPPENING IN REAL ESTATE! (Not what the media says)
I couldn't have said this better myself. As a matter of fact, Paul covered some areas I haven't been comfortable with, by taking a solid stand that I'm now adopting myself. This is a great post for me to give notice to my own work area in Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ponce Inlet, and all of Volusia County Florida, that I am NOT a REALTOR® who is willing to work with every real estate customer who comes along, wanting to work in the gray areas, and/or … (7 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Wordless Wednesday: Never Too Old to Finger-Paint? - 02/24/10 10:19 AM
So my daughter is now a sophomore in college, and they're... finger-painting?  Hmm. You'd think they would have outgrown this by now.  Oh wait... you don't suppose it could be in the genes do you? *Gasp!?* LOL

And the finished product is... 2 giant banners for the teams who are now going to play outdoor sporting games in the mud.  >.<

And for this, we spend the first 17+ years pushing them for good grades, wholesome activities, and a well-rounded personality, so we can then spend Un-Godly amounts of money on college, in hopes that they'll eventually become … (15 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Embrace Your Unique Gifts, Talents and Abilities. Be the Best YOU, that You Can Be! - 02/22/10 05:48 AM
A little while ago, I read this blog post by Gary Woltal called "Is Your Camel Parked in the Right Desert?". I felt the need to share it, because it spoke volumes to me.
As REALTORS®, most of us are constantly trying to better ourselves. We read and study and learn, with the intention of bettering ourselves, and providing better service to our customers. We even do our required continuing education, plus study for even more real estate education and designations. All this is good for us, and for our real estate customers!
But how often do we blame ourselves for … (4 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Speechless Sunday (again) - 02/14/10 04:35 PM
OK so I decided we needed 2 posts for this week's Speechless Sunday. Why? Because I forgot about this one. LOL! I just had to share it =)  Ah the good ole days. But then, not much has changed. She's older and more mature, but somehow I think this is something she'd still do! HAHA!

daytona beach realtor: Speechless Sunday. Another One to Embarass My Daughter =D - 02/14/10 04:21 PM
Yep. I'm continuing with my quest to embarass my daughter, by posting silly pictures of her when she was younger. (Love the braces with the blue bands in this one)
But this photo is somewhat bitter-sweet. We love guineq pigs in our house. But this one had upper respiratory problems the entire time we had her. We tried everything. But she only lived a few months. And this is one of the few pictures I have of her. She had burrowed into the sleeve of my daughter's nightgown and just stuck her nose out. lol. I thought it was adorable. As … (0 comments)

daytona beach realtor: SHORT SALE MARKET EVOLUTION - GMAC SOLUTION TO FALSE BUYERS - 02/11/10 02:13 PM
The most arrogant, blatant disregard for the welfare of our real estate buyers and sellers that I've seen so far. And that's saying a lot! Buyers AND Sellers Beware of this short sale plot!

daytona beach realtor: Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings - Sales - Foreclosures for 2009 - 02/07/10 02:07 PM
As a follow-up to my recent post titled "Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings and Sales 2000-2009 Market Reports", I decided to write this post, which shows just how many of the 2009 sales were foreclosures and short sales. Once again, I've included a bar graph. And for statistical purposes, on this graph I've also posted the actual numbers of how many of these real estate sales were along the lines of foreclosures, pre-foreclosures and short sales.

As you can see by the sales numbers, a significant number of the 2009 real estate sales for the city of Daytona Beach were … (2 comments)

daytona beach realtor: I HATE TO SAY "I TOLD YOU SO", but. . . . . . . "OBAMA TO LIMIT MORTGAGE INTEREST DEDUCTION!" - 02/01/10 04:12 PM
Daytona Beach area real estate buyers and sellers; this mortgage information will affect us all! thank you Len, for providing this impacting insight! (Scroll down to read the original blog post by a very insightful real estate blogger.)

LIMITS ON MORTGAGE INTEREST DEDUCTION was once a "sacred cow" of tax law.  No more.
The American home owner is square in the sights of the budget released today.
On October 25, 2008, a bolt of lightening struck me and I realized that there is no income protection safe from the government's zeal to play chess with the American tax payer's … (6 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Daytona Beach Chick-fil-A, Anyone? Eat More Chikin! - 01/21/10 07:00 PM
I've had an incredibly busy week this week, which is fantastic considering I've been busy with both real estate buyers and sellers! The down-side is, I haven't had time to write as many blog posts, and I completely missed the Wordless Wednesday photo blog. So I decided to go ahead and just post it now, since now is when I have time, and... well, because I felt like it! =p
So here is my usual photo subject (my fabulous daughter); posing as usual. She actually won some kind of contest and gets free Chick-fil-A sandwhiches for a whole year! So she … (9 comments)

daytona beach realtor: Photos, Social Networking and Hyper-Local Marketing. - 01/20/10 02:32 AM
This morning as I was going through my e-mails that came in overnight, I found a couple of LinkedIn requests from some fellow Rainers. If you have LinkedIn, you know that as you accept new people into your network, it brings up other business associates that you may know, based on the fact that you have commonalities with them. So I usually add a few more people as the list comes up, and the page keeps refreshing.
So what does this have to do with a photo? Well, throughout the years, there has been some debate as to whether or not … (8 comments)

Real Estate Sellers; Here are some questions you should be asking any real estate agent you interview, BEFORE you list your property for sale!
I couldn't have said this better myself... so I won't. REALTORS®, if you're going to list property, then do your best to get it sold! You OWE that to your sellers. It's time for the remaining real estate agents who didn't drop out in the last couple of incredibly difficult years, to either get their acts together, or get out of the business!
