real estate blog: Brittany vs Dinosaur (part 2) - 09/08/10 07:21 AM
OK, so this post is not about real estate, since I'm still enjoying the photo (and picture) blogs, and I do tend to get stuck on my favorite image subject... my fabulous daughter! (Biased? What makes you think that?)
On Sunday I posted a picture of my daughter "fighting" a big, bad dinosaur. *Gasp!* There was much deliberation over who would win. Well, according to this shot, I think my daughter showed the dino who's boss! he he.  She took care of one and moved right on to the next one! (lol)
Umm... Notice the sign in the foreground? *sigh*

real estate blog: Speechless Sunday-Snow in July? ... in Florida!!?? - 07/25/10 04:19 PM
Can it be!??
No, of course not. It's just a Snowy Egret :-D  My brother took this photo. And I think he did a great job on this one (except for the date stamp), so I decided to share it. (This is from the bro who took those crazy weather shots over the ocean!) But this one's much more peaceful. And this little guy doesn't seem to mind if his feathers are getting ruffled.

real estate blog: Photo-Danger and Beauty (and some real estate info too) - 06/13/10 06:25 PM
This is another beautiful photo by my friend Nick. I've been waiting to show this one. I think it's another astounding capture, which seems to be an amazing talent of Nick's. It also make me stop and think about how often beauty is mixed with danger. We all know that bees and other stinging or biting nuisances can be found among flowers. But there are also the dangers of beautiful roses and painful thorns; or to the unsuspecting person, the possibility of accidentally coming into contact with "Stinging Nettles" or "Poison Ivy/Oak/Sumac". Many other instances come to mind, but you get … (15 comments)

real estate blog: Speechless Sunday: Buzzing for Pollen =) - 06/06/10 05:19 PM
Here's another one of Nick's fantastic photos. I love the shot of this bee in mid-air. I'm sure he's looking for a nice pollen snack, and he's honing in on 2 delicious flowers =) Buzz buzz!

If you're looking to buy or sell real estate in the Daytona Beach area, make a Smart Choice and contact Lisa Hill. I promise to shoo away the bees while we find your new home ;-)

real estate blog: Wordless Wednesday: Another One to Embarrass My Daughter! =D - 02/10/10 02:18 PM
As promised, I'm digging through old photos of my daughter and sharing with you all, so we can enjoy her embarrassment younger years. (he he)  So here's one for this Wordless Wednesday... with a few words =)
Believe it or not, this was her senior year of high school. She and her friend decided to figure out who could create the weirdest outfit. Unfortunately I think my kid won this little contest. >.<

real estate blog: Daytona Beach Chick-fil-A, Anyone? Eat More Chikin! - 01/21/10 07:00 PM
I've had an incredibly busy week this week, which is fantastic considering I've been busy with both real estate buyers and sellers! The down-side is, I haven't had time to write as many blog posts, and I completely missed the Wordless Wednesday photo blog. So I decided to go ahead and just post it now, since now is when I have time, and... well, because I felt like it! =p
So here is my usual photo subject (my fabulous daughter); posing as usual. She actually won some kind of contest and gets free Chick-fil-A sandwhiches for a whole year! So she … (9 comments)

real estate blog: Speechless Sunday on Lisa Hill's Real Estate Blog - 11/15/09 02:49 PM
It's Speechless Sunday, and once again, my post is not speechless. But I will keep this one short and sweet  =)  Once again, my friend Nick (Nickrun on DeviantArt.com) has captured the silhouette of a beautiful bird, in a lake at sunset... two, no make that three, of my favorite things! Lakes, Sunsets and Birds =D

I hope you've enjoyed the photo (which IS copyrighted!) and if you're interested in purchasing any of Nick's images, you can checkout his work by following the link above.

real estate blog: Have you programmed your ActiveRain TV channels? - 11/04/09 03:08 PM
You can thank Russel Ray for this one. He actually visited EVERY one of the 5,737 (which grew to 6,035 before he finished) groups on Active Rain, and created a short list of 100 groups that would be good for anyone to join... especially our new members.
This is a fantastic, selfless idea! I personally love it, even though it's going to take me quite a bit of time to check out these 100 groups... which make is even more amazing that Russel went through all 6,035 of them! Now enjoy Russel's post below =)

real estate blog: Wordless Wednesday. Fragrant Flower from My Own Home. By Lisa Hill, Port Orange REALTOR® - 09/02/09 06:05 PM
It's time for another Wordless Wednesday post... with a few words  ;-)  I almost forgot about this photo. I just wish I could send the overpowering fragrance through the monitor, along with this photo. It's incredible! So incredible that if I bring a few inside, I can only place one in a room, at a time! So you'll have to imagine that part. And I hope you enjoy the photo =)

real estate blog: First Time Home Buyers 2009, $8000 Tax Credit - 06/25/09 09:28 AM
I realize the First Time Home Buyers Program for the 2009, $8,000 real estate tax credit has been discussed and blogged about, by just about everyone in the real estate industry, and then some. But since there still seems to be a lot of confusion about it, mostly because the government has continually changed the program, I decided to throw my hat into the proverbial ring on this subject.
So let's keep this simple. Rather than speculate and add my 2 cents about this real estate program, I'm just going to provide a link to the information provided by the Daytona … (2 comments)

real estate blog: Speechless Sunday (Belated) - 06/07/09 07:06 PM
Oops! I'm a little bit late getting my Speechless Sunday blog posted. I'm now about an hour into Monday. Doh!  But when you read my next blog post, you'll understand the delay.
I received an e-mail from Trulia, with a question from a distressed home owner, and I felt obligated to answer. Once I finish this post, I'll post my next one, featuring the Trulia question that distracted me, and I'll ask others to add their 2 cents in helping to cheer up this unhappy home owner. But for now, here's my photo for (yesterday's) Speechless Sunday... Hmm.  I just realized … (4 comments)

real estate blog: Wordless Wednesday Explanation for my Readers. Hungry Anyone? - 06/03/09 05:18 PM
It's good to have variety. For my readers who are wondering what this "Wordless Wednesday" stuff is about, I didn't come up with this concept.
Just what is this "concept"? The idea is to insert posts into our regular blogs, that are all about one particular photo. There are many Active Rain participants who have been following this idea for quite a while now. But I only started a couple of weeks ago. And I'm loving it! I don't know why I didn't start partcipating sooner.
A bit more information... When participating in Wordless Wednesday, if Active Rain bloggers want to … (22 comments)

real estate blog: Unethical? Inconsiderate? With Web 2.0 & Blogging, The REALTOR® Code of Ethics Needs to Change - 03/28/09 10:59 PM
This post is probably preaching to the choir for most of our Active Rain members, and for that I am glad. I believe that 99.9% of the members here on Active Rain are great bloggers and a good fit, as I recently blogged in my post about the pieces of the Active Rain puzzle. But I just found a comment on one of my blogs that is a perfect indication of someone who is a piece of a different puzzle. I'm writing this blog post as an example for Active Rain newbies, and/or for those who are new to the world … (149 comments)

real estate blog: 300,000+ Pieces of the Active Rain Puzzle - 03/13/09 02:57 PM
Fellow Rainers, this blog's for you. Yes, it's for you.
I know, I know. You're probably wondering how a post about my 300,000+ points could possibly be about you. But it is! Bear with me and let me paint a picture for you.
To reach 300,000 points, I've obviously written a lot of blog posts, and made a lot of comments. I've even won a couple of contests. But the snapshots of our history pages are what really tell the story of our time spent here. It could be viewed as pieces of a puzzle. To elaborate on this theory, … (43 comments)

real estate blog: Real Estate and Home Town Blogs for Consumers - Featured Posts for Localism - 11/26/08 05:50 PM
Today I decided to scroll through my "blog history" here on the Active Rain Real Estate Network and discovered some interesting information about my Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, Ponce Inlet and other miscellaneous home town real estate blog posts.
My history on Active Rain began in April of 2007. I filled out my profile on April 3. On April 5 I sent out some invitations, and two of my associates joined. And on April 11,  I started commenting, and posted 2 blogs. OK, so that's not exactly exciting news. So I'll get to the point.
I write a lot … (12 comments)
