As a follow-up to my recent post titled "Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings and Sales 2000-2009 Market Reports", I decided to write this post, which shows just how many of the 2009 sales were foreclosures and short sales. Once again, I've included a bar graph. And for statistical purposes, on this graph I've also posted the actual numbers of how many of these real estate sales were along the lines of foreclosures, pre-foreclosures and short sales.

This is another photo, courtesy of my friend Nick. The incoming storm clouds remind me of our real estate market... the last few years, and the current climate; with lenders underpricing the foreclosures, thus driving our values down even more. But then, every cloud has a silver lining. And if you look beyond the storm clouds, there's a clear sky yet to come. I'm sure we all look forward to that time!

Over a year ago, I blogged about The Daytona Cubs, and Jackie Robinson Ball Park. And I decided it's time to remind Daytona Beach residents, visitors, and potential real estate buyers about this inexpensive way to spend an evening with family and friends, and about the fascinating history involved. Did you know that Daytona Beach's Jackie Robinson Ball Park was originally built in 1940? Did you also know that it was at this very park where Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball, when he played in the first ever, racially integrated spring-training game? As a REALTORĀ®, when I list a house (also: condo, town house, manufactured home), I intend to sell it. Keeping this in mind, after making sure it's priced properly, I communicate with my sellers on the importance of keeping it "show ready". The beds should be made, dishes put away, toys picked up, everything clean and bright. If a particular seller has a lot of photos and knick-knacks sitting around, I advise them that they need to be removed. Experienced REALTORSĀ® know that most home buyers are unable to see past the"stuff", to appreciate how desirable a house may be. If (6 comments)
