lisa merow: What turns Buyers Off? - 02/23/11 11:56 PM
Time and again, when working with buyers, and dealing with sellers who's homes are NOT selling, I am asked "What is up with this...house...seller...buyer..."  Time and again I talk to my buyers and sellers about what qualities make a home desireable on the market.  The following is from an e-mail I received from Trulia's Ask Tara, it is a humerous and informative perspective on the things that turn buyers off.
"Here are 6 big-time homebuyer turn-offs that make buyers cringe at the thought of your home, and action steps you can take to prevent your home from being an offender:

lisa merow: Still time for 1st time tax credit for Members of the Military - 02/23/11 10:58 PM
Members of the military and certain other federal employees serving outside the U.S. have an extra year to buy a principal residence in the U.S. and qualify for the credit. If a binding contract is entered into by that date, the taxpayer has until June 30, 2011, to close on the purchase. lisa merow: Foreclosure Tips - 01/27/11 11:19 PM
This great information came accross my desk from Truila's ask Tara series.  I found the information very useful and thought I'd share it.
Interest in buying a foreclosed home is on the rise, but so are concerns about the risk involved in the process. In a December survey, Trulia found that 49 percent of Americans were at least somewhat likely to consider buying a foreclosure, up from 45 percent in May 2010.  But the number of US adults who believed there are disadvantages to buying foreclosures had also increased, from 78 percent to 81 percent over the same time frame.  Among … (0 comments)

lisa merow: Renovate before you Sell? - 01/25/11 12:34 AM
I recently read a great article by Dan Steward of Pillar to Post Professional Home Inspections, who shares some great tips on pre-sale renovations to help get homes sold.  I hope you find it as informative as I did.  Pass it along to yourr sellers who are thinking about selling or having a tough time getting their dated property sold.
"You've probably seen those depressingly cheery home-themed TV shows: a couple needs to sell their house, they have an outdated kitchen, and a designer comes in and proceeds to convince them to renovate the kitchen into a stainless-steel-clad shrine to culinary greatness-for … (3 comments)
