homes for sale in washington dc: Four Reasons to Buy Now - Don't Wait Till Next Year! - 03/03/19 05:54 AM
Below are four great reasons to consider buying a home today instead of waiting.
1. Prices Will Continue to Rise
CoreLogic’s latest Home Price Index reports that home prices have appreciated nationally by 4.7% over the last 12 months. The same report predicts that prices will continue to increase at a rate of 4.6% nationally over the next year.  (DC home prices increased by 5.4% last year while Maryland saw an increase of 2.7% and Virginia homes increased by 4.4%) In short, the bottom in home prices sadly has come and gone. Home values will continue to appreciate for years. Waiting … (14 comments)

homes for sale in washington dc: Do You Need a Credit Repair Company to Fix Your Credit Score? - 11/19/18 04:17 AM
Even before you start to look for your dream home, you are going to choose a lender and start the process of applying for a mortgage. There are several reasons that this should be your first step.  Finding out what your lender will qualify you for - and comparing that with your comfort zone of mortgage payments - is always a good reality check.  You probably aren't exactly sure what price range you should be targetting for your dream home so this will help you simplify your home search.  The second reason is equally important.  If your lender pulls your credit … (36 comments)

homes for sale in washington dc: It is National Donut Day in Washington DC! What to Choose? - 06/04/15 08:55 PM
Washington DC is not responsible for any big contribution to the donut world. We have New England to thank for Dunkin Donuts, and Krispy Creme is from North Carolina originally. Have you noticed that many people choose between Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Creme? A free doughnut of your choice can be had at Krispy Creme, with no other rules. Or if Dunkin' Donuts is your choice, … (20 comments)

homes for sale in washington dc: The Previous Sale Did Not Transfer the Parking Space or Lower Level - 01/25/15 01:16 PM
This is a cautionary tale.
I am representing the buyer in the purchase of a four story condo that is a bit unconventional in its legal structure.  The property actually is being conveyed via the transfer of two deeds - one for the upper three floors and a second separate deed for the lower level.  (The lower level is completely integrated with the upper three floors as in any single family house.  It is not an accessory apartment or an English basement.)  In addition there is a separate deed for the parking space.  My buyer is wonderful with a fantastic eye … (16 comments)

homes for sale in washington dc: The Washington Humane Society Rocked 2014! Find Your Next Pet There! - 01/13/15 10:54 AM
The Washington Humane Society deserves a huge shout out for its service to the community in 2014.  The WHS had a 10.7 percent increase in adoptions last year.  It took in 10,540 animals and adopted out 3,387 animals.  It also had a live release rate of 86.53 percent – which means animals sent to sanctuary, re-homed or involved in the community cat program.
The WHS is into marketing – just like Realtors! They have promotions throughout the year that reduce the adoption fee or fun marketing – like take two cats home for the price of one.  Every animal … (9 comments)
