We are finding more and more leaky fireplaces lately, especially in homes where the fireplace was added to the home later. We see this mostly in the Jackson Hole area, but these last two weeks at some Utah ski resorts we captured some good images. This one cabin had more cold air pouring in from around the back sides of the fireplace that it could never generate enough heat to recover. We are going back next month after the energy retrofitter finishes caulking and sealing up the home.
