century 21 hardeeteam realty: Fun Day Trips From Houston -- Do You Love Miniature Horses? - 03/27/11 02:56 PM
Do you love Miniature Horses?  Here are some photos I took at a farm off of FM 1155, outside of Chappel Hill, Texas.

I found this great horse ranch last year when I went to look for wildflowers off of highway 290.

This dark mare seems to have light colored foals every year.  While she is a beauty in her own right, she produces some great offspring.

Here the baby is facing me.  Isn't it cute?

Here is another group of miniature horses.  They have some great coloring as well.

These horses seemed to be scratching each … (2 comments)

century 21 hardeeteam realty: Beautiful Gardens, Azaleas and Tulips! From Your Houston Real Estate Professional. - 03/25/11 04:51 AM
It's Azalea Time.  Here are some beautiful azalea bushes I have seen around in Lakewood Forest and Heatherwood Village.

These azaleas are putting on a good show.  The vivid pink color contrasts wonderfully with the green grass.

This neighbor chose to use the white azaelas.

This is one of my favorites.

The color of this azalea is just beautiful.  It is a dark pink/purple shade that is just gorgeous against the black dirt or mulch.

I had to add one of my tulip pictures from the Dallas Arboretum.  I did two blogs on the Dallas Arboretum, … (3 comments)

century 21 hardeeteam realty: The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2011. - 03/24/11 03:54 PM
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2011.  These great pictures were taken at the Reliant Arena the second Wednesday the Rodeo was in Houston.

This very patient llama has some great facial features.  He was very calm while the two little goats were "kidding" around, jumping on his back and head butting each other.  After I took this picture, he did stand up and shake off the goats.  I took these pictures inside the petting zoo.

These two sitting ducks were out of reach, but well within camera range.  I love the green feathers on the male duck.

century 21 hardeeteam realty: Happy First Week Of Spring! Gardens With Flowers Galore! - 03/22/11 04:34 PM
Happy First Week Of Spring! Gardens With Flowers Galore!  I took these pictures at the Dallas Arboretum last Saturday afternoon.  I love tulips, and was amazed to see such a wide variety and some lovely colors.

The arboretum had some tulips mixed with other tulips in large garden beds, while others were presented alone, with markers for identification.

This beauty is unlike anything I've ever seen before.  Each of the flowers on this Burning Head Darwin Hybrid looked like a yellow tulip flower with orange paint from a paint brush.

Just looking at this group of tulips makes me … (2 comments)

Tulips, Tulips Everywhere! Do You Love Gardens?
Yesterday I went to the Dallas Arboretum and found millions of tulips blooming. I happen to love tulips and was overwhelmed by the variety and beautiful colored tulips everywhere I turned in this 66 acre garden. This morning I happened to see a MSN story about a garden in the Netherlands that has lots of tulips in bloom, the Keukenhof gardens. I was unable to get my Dallas Arboretum pictures to post in my blog, so I am posting a link, http://charuavi.sulekha.com/blog/post/2007/01/keukenhof-gardens.htm to pictures of the Keukenhof gardens so you can see some of … (0 comments)

Tax Question:Can You Deduct Repairs To A House You Are Flipping?
I have a client that I have worked with for several years and I have sold two houses for him. I think you can deduct repairs to a house that you purchase with the intent of fixing it up and selling it, but H&R Block said no when he went to do his taxes. What is your answer? I did not ask him if he files a schedule C for his tax forms.
I appreciate your input!

This waterway is part of the scenery from the train.

Colorado Vacation 2003.  Beautiful mountains, wild creatures and stunning scenery.

These pictures are from my vacation in June of 2003 to a family reunion in Estes Park for a week.

Every couple of years or so my family has a reunion up in Estes Park Colorado, which is near Rocky Mountain National Park.  It is a great way to see the scenery together and catch up on how everybody is doing.

Here is a chipmunk.  His fur looks silky soft.  You can also see a survey marker on the left.

Anatomy of an Earthquake - Japanese Earthquake Explained
This great video explores the geology that caused the giant earthquake that happened this morning in Japan.  Japan lies on the famous "Ring of Fire" where most earthquakes and active volcanoes occur.  Japan also lies where three tectonic plates merge.  This morning one plate, the Pacific Plate was subducted under the Eurasian plate, causing the quake.  For an explanation from a geologist, see the video, Exploring the Cause of catastrophic quakes.

This picture was taken in 2003 at Rocky Mountain National Park.

century 21 hardeeteam realty: Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo -- Part 2 - 03/09/11 12:23 PM
Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo -- Part 2.  These were taken last Wednesday night, 3/3/11.

This pony looks so soft.  It might a shetland pony.  It was short for a horse, maybe 4 feet tall.

These people are taking their goats for a walk or else just going home for the night.

They had a huge glass exhibit with eggs hatching.  These are some new hatches.  They have to dry before they can even stand up.  They get fluffy when they are dry.  Their legs seem very rubbery at first as well.

The horns on this longhorn steer … (3 comments)

 It's Rodeo Time -- The 2011 Houston Rodeo -- Part 1.

I was so excited to see all the animals this year.  The rodeo folks have really done a good job of setting up the animal exhibits in Reliant Arena.  I wish I could have been there during the day to see the animal judgings and showings.

Isn't this baby goat precious?  It looks so soft.  I think it is a Boerr goat.  The ears are silky and flop around.  It has great coloring as well.

This goat wanted to participate with the crowd.

"Green" Kitchen Countertops -- Some Eco Friendly Choices From Your Houston Real Estate Professional.
There are choices that are cheaper than granite and better for the environment.  Sustainable materials look just as good as the "usual" granite or quartz.  One example is recycled glass in cement countertops.  In terms of what constitutes "green", the countertops feature recycled or sustainable content, low-toxicity binders, eco-friendly maufacturing processes or a combination. And, if you can get a countertop that is produced locally, it saves on fuel consumption.  Durability is the number one consideration, because not having to replace the countertops again is the most green option of … (3 comments)
