The 2012 Ballunar Festival was held at NASA Johnson Space Center over the weekend. These pictures are from Friday night 9/28/12.
This Balloon Glow started at 8pm on Friday night, and it is a good thing I went on Friday, because the weather was stormy on Saturday and they shut the festival down early.
Here is where the announcer called for an "all burn". All the balloons fired their hot air to illuminate the balloons.

This reenactment is put on during the weekend before Thanksgiving every year, rain or shine. This year was beautiful and sunny and in the 70 - 80 degree range. We could even see the battle from the freeway before we got to the plantation.l
They shuttled spectators to the battle field by hayride. These were some of the tents along the way.

This is a shot of the Japanese Garden in Zilker Park. There is a winding rock trail down to this great koi pond. The egret perched on the rock is a bronze statue that is a recent addition to the park.
