FREE Movie on Tuesdays at 7pm At Silverado 19 In Tomball, Texas.
In celebration of 100 years of cinema, every Tuesday Siverado 19 shows a Free movie at 7pm.

Thanks Silverado 19 for the FREE movie last night.  Last nights Tuesday night FREE movie was "Knowing" with Nicholas Cage.  It had lots of great special effects, and a good story line.

A free movie, you just can't beat that.  I thought the theater would be crowded with people, but there were only about 30 people.

Next Tuesday's movie is The Warrior's Way with Kate Bosworth, that's Tuesday 11/29/11 … (1 comments)

movies: Brad Pitt in "Moneyball", A Review by Your Houston\Tomball Texas Realtor - 09/29/11 11:31 AM
"MoneyBall", a Review By Your Professional Houston Realtor.

I went to the cinemark theater near Spring Cypress and Highway 290 last night to see this movie.  I loved "Moneyball" because of its mathmatical message all through the movie.  The Brad Pitt character connects with an underling at a competing ball club and initiates a way to cheaply staff his baseball team with players that meet certain statistical criteria.  The main message was to get players that got on base.  The movie is the story of how they made it work to go from losing game after game, to winning 20 straight … (5 comments)

movies: Happy 100th Birthday Lucille Ball, Star of "I Love Lucy"!! - 08/06/11 11:47 AM
Happy 100th Birthday Lucille Ball!!
For those of you over 40 years old, you probably know who Lucille Ball is, as the star of "I Love Lucy".  The "I Love Lucy" show ran so long that many people associate Lucille Ball only with that show and not her early movie rolls.  She was a true cinema beauty in those early movie rolls.  Sometimes you can catch one of those early movies with Lucy in them on Turner Classic Movies (TCM).  Her acting in those movies is really wonderful.
CNN has a great article about her, along with pictures, click here to view it.  … (4 comments)

movies: "Insidious" A Movie Review By Your Houston Real Estate Professional - 05/17/11 06:36 AM
"Insidious" A Movie Review by Your Houston Real Estate Professional.  This is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen in my life.  I was expecting a movie about supernatural events.  This movie combines ideas I've seen in the series The Twilight Zone with ideas you would associate Ghost Hunters.  While the movie doesn't have any big stars that I recognized, it was absolutely riveting.

The only bad thing was the screaming teenagers in the theater.  I was still thinking about this movie the next day.  I would not take small children to this movie.

"Water For Elephants", A Movie Review By Your Houston Real Estate Professional.

I saw this movie a few weeks ago.  It was really a lovely movie.  It had a great story with a happy ending.  The real stars of this movie, in my opinion, were the elephant (Rosie), Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson.  I have to warn you that while there is a happy ending, there is some drama during the movie that involves some animal cruelty.  Here is the movie trailer, but I have to say, the movie is much better than the trailer, so go see it if you … (1 comments)

movies: "Just Go For It" is a Great Date Night Movie, by Your Houston & Tomball Real Estate Professional - 02/13/11 03:07 PM
"Just Go With It",A Movie Review by Your Houston Real Estate Professional.  I went to this movie with rather low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised,  I even laughed out loud several times.  There were some cute one liners, as well as some corny ones.  The scenery in Hawaii was spectacular, lush rain forests, waterfalls and beautiful beaches.  I might buy the DVD when it comes out, just for the scenery.

And, the movie did a good job of threading themes all through the movie.  For example, the little girl was an aspiring actor and used a British accent throughout most of … (1 comments)

movies: "The Tourist" A Movie Review by Your Houston Real Estate Professional. - 01/23/11 09:15 AM

"The Tourist" A Movie Review by Your Houston Real Estate Professional.  I saw this movie last night and the more I think about it, the more I like it.  There are high speed trains in Europe and lots of scenery from Venice.  The movie starts off in Paris and then Angelina's character takes a high speed train to Venice.  She picks up "Frank",Johnny Depp on the train to throw suspicion away from her boyfriend, Alexander Pierce.  Government officials chase and try to kill Frank for the rest of the movie.
The writing is clever.  The costumes are beautiful, and the scenery … (7 comments)

movies: "The Town" -- A Movie Review - 10/01/10 07:26 AM
The Town -- A Movie Review.  This movie was a total departure from the "normal" movie experience.  The movie was about some bank hiests and robberies of armored cars.  This movie stars Ben Affleck and he also directed it.  The movie takes you inside the little group of robbers.
The group of robbers are very clever in their use of different masks to sheild their identity during the first couple of robberies -- using monster masks and then nun masks.  It is a little disconcerting to see someone shooting a machine gun at a person in a nun costume -- even if you … (4 comments)

movies: "Knight and Day" a Movie Review - 07/15/10 04:27 PM
"Knight and Day" a movie review.  I thought this movie was awesome.  As far as I'm concerned Tom Cruise is back.  The movie had great music, story line and linking.  As far as the music, they actually had a kind of modern accordian music fit really well in the European scenes.  The story was clever, humorous and romantic.
The way the story was written, at the beginning of the movie you are not sure if Tom Cruise is a good guy or a bad guy, but his killing skills remind me of Bruce Willis in Die Hard.  Cameron Diaz has an great part.  … (6 comments)

movies: "Sherlock Holmes" -- A Movie Review - 01/09/10 09:39 AM
I saw the movie "Sherlock Holmes" last night.  It starred Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams.  There was a really nice fight scene in the beginning of the movie where "Sherlock" is in a fight with someone that was much bigger and taller.  It showed the step-by-step process in slow motion of how he ,"Sherlock", would end up winning the fight.  I don't remember the old Sherlock Holmes movies having fights, so this was something unexpected.  Rachel McAdams was Sherlock's love interest, and Jude Law was his faithful sidekick.  The humor between the three of them was okay, but I think I laughed more … (12 comments)

movies: "It's Complicated" -- A Movie Review - 01/05/10 10:33 AM
"It's Complicated" is a wonderful movie in my opinion.  I went to see it on New Year's Eve with my husband.  I was looking for a funny movie and I found it.  It actually could be considered a romantic comedy.

My top favorite characters in the movie are Lake Bell, John Kransinski, Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin.  Alec reminded me alot of his character in "Hunt for Red October" with some of the same facial expressions and humor.  John Kransinski might be nominated for an award for best supporting actor on this one -- he was hilarious with his unique brand … (5 comments)

movies: "Avatar" -- A Movie Review - 12/18/09 04:20 PM
Avatar -- a movie review.  When I saw the trailer for this movie with all the tall blue characters, I thought the movie might be a little strange, but Cameron pulled it out.  There was actually a story line and quite a few unique things, like quirky plants and animals.  The incandescent forest floor, mosses and plants were magnificent (they might get an award for special effects).  There was also the cutest little animals that floated in the air, but resembled jellyfish in the way they moved and propelled themselves.   Also had some large animals that resembled a rhinoceros with a hammerhead shark protrusion.

movies: Looking for a Movie to Scare the &(^%)*%$! out of you? - 12/14/09 09:49 AM
Are you looking for a movie to scare the *&(*^&(*$ out of you??  Try "Disturbia".  It sent a shiver down my spine at least twice.  I don't recommend it for young children.

This to me, is like a remake of Alfred Hichcock's "Rear Window", set in present day and the Jimmy Stewart character in this movie is a high school student on house arrest.  While on house arrest, with no Itunes or XBox 360, the hero takes the binoculars in hand and learns all his neighbors secrets.  He thinks he stumbled on a big one  -- murder.
The characters are played by Shai LaBeouf … (0 comments)

movies: The Time Traveler's Wife -- A Review - 08/29/09 09:20 AM
Hi all you movie buffs.  This movie is wonderful.  If you saw the twilight zone that I think this was based on, this movie is so much better.  It would be a great date movie, and would be touching to those together a few days, weeks, or even decades.  One thing I can say is that it is never boring, and the main characters are very interesting.  I really enjoyed it, and I hope you like it too.
