travel: Coba, Mexico -- Interesting Architecture -- Jan 2013 - 04/21/13 07:36 AM
This was from my Carnival Cruise on Jan 2013.  My Cozumel excursion was to Coba to climb the pyramid.

This picture gives you a scale of how big the pyramid is.

Lots of folks tried to climb this pyramid.  It is about the last pyramid you can climb on.

This man was happy he made it to the top.  The ride to this pyramid took almost 4 hours by bus.
We were late getting back to the ship, but they waited for us.

Dancing waiters on Carnival cruise ship.  Lots of upbeat music, and FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

travel: ...And I Kissed A Stingray...Grand Cayman Island 1/3/13 - 01/10/13 08:33 AM
...And I Kissed A Stingray ... Grand Cayman Island on 1/3/13.  What an awesome excursion.

The water is so blue down there, it is just beautiful.  The ship in the picture is the Norwegian Pearl.  My cruise ship was the Carnival Magic.

This is the catamaran that took us out to the stingray sandbar for our interaction with the stingrays.  On the way back to the harbor they unfurled the sails and we sailed back by wind power.

Here is one stingray that is looking for food or just to be petted or kissed.

travel: UP844 Steam Train Video -- November 2012 - 11/08/12 07:29 AM
Great video of UP844 zooming through its trip to Texas, New Mexico and Colorado.  My friend Ed was the engineer on this trip.  The turn out in all the small towns was amazing, with the turnout in Amarillo being so big we had a hard time finding a parking space.  I was told UP844 had never travelled this way.  I was happy so many people turned out to see it.
UP844 is touring America as part of a goodwill tour and to celebrate the UP 150 year anniversary.

travel: Banff National Park -- By Your Tomball Real Estate Professional - 08/03/12 05:37 AM
Goregous picture of Banff National Park.  This is not my picture, but I hope to take a great one this summer when I visit.
Banff National Park is in Canada and is a pristinely beautiful place.  I am looking forward to the trip to the Park and Lake Louise.   If you have been to Banff National Park, please give me some pointers on some lodging, hikes or photo spots you particularly like.

travel: What Animal Do You Paint In Your Town? Adorable Painted Donkeys Are In Carrizozo, New Mexico. - 11/20/11 12:49 PM
While I was chasing the Union Pacific Steam Train 844 from Wyoming to New Mexico, I saw these cute painted donkeys.  Just like some towns have painted cows, salmon, horses, and fish, this little town has very nice painted donkeys.

This was the first one I saw on a street corner near the railroad tracks.

The name of the city is so unusual I thought I had better take a picture with the name in it so I didn't get it wrong.

Here was the second donkey I spotted.  Then is was a hunt for all the donkeys … (0 comments)

travel: I Love To Travel, But It Is Always Great To Come Home To Texas! - 11/19/11 10:35 AM
I Love To Travel, But It Is Always Great To Come Home To Texas!

I was told that this is a famous picture.  Have you seen it before?  The mountains are the Guadalupe Mountains.

I happened upon a new rest area.

This is one of the fanciest rest areas I've seen in Texas.  It has lots of lovely stone and tile.

The information boards tell about the surrounding area and also about the wind turbine project.

They built some nice picnic areas as well.

When I travel, I always love to see this sign.

travel: Have You Been To Smoky Mountains National Park? - 07/31/11 04:25 AM
Have You Been To Smoky Mountains National Park?  I may be going there for vacation and I need tips.  I love National Parks and Gardens, so I'm looking for some advice.  Also looking for short hikes and ones that are not too steep.  For example, in Rocky Mountain National Park I like to hike on Bear Lake, Cub Lake and Sprague Lake, as well as Alberta Falls.
Do you have any favorite restaurants, lodges or photo spots that you felt were especially memorable?  Please leave a comment so I can take advantage of your knowledge of the area.  Thanks in advance … (1 comments)

travel: **An Awe Inspiring View -- Haleakala in Hawaii** - 05/19/11 04:49 AM
Pictures from Hawaii -- May 2011.  My brother Bob is in Hawaii on vacation, and I asked him to send me some pictures with descriptions.  He vacations there about avery three years or so.

This was from the B&B that my brother stays at every time he vacations in Hawaii.  The rate is $85 per night.  West Maui is in the distance.

Sunrise at Haleakala Maui.  The sun was peeking out behind some clouds.  An awe inspiring view.  My oldest sister and I went to Haleakala in June of 2000.  It took a long time to drive to the … (6 comments)
