Forget a sea view mansion. CnnMoney.com reports in Hong Kong, parking spaces are some of the hottest properties on the market.
Hong Kong is a densely populated city and eager have pushed prices for parking spaces to record highs in recent months with prime spaces now selling for far more than the luxury cars that park in them.

While the number of for sale by owner transactions is on the decline, approximately 9 percent of sellers decide to go it alone and forego outside help from a Realtor®. Typically those that go this route have extenuating circumstances, such as already having a relationship with the buyer (which happened in 40 percent of recent FSBO sales, according to National Association of Realtors® data). However, NAR’s 2013 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers shows that most sellers benefit from the outside help of a knowledgeable advocate when selling their home. Aside from being experts in the field, Realtors® have the time, … (0 comments)

market trends: Greenville NC Real Estate Market Trends for May 2014 - 06/25/14 11:21 PM
All-cash offers are an unusual real estate tactic, but often times are a winning strategy at the negotiating table, and are presently on the rise. The National Association of Realtors® reports market share of all-cash purchases has risen and currently makes up 33 percent of the market. This is a unique trend, especially since the market has experienced a decrease in distressed homes and investor activity.
Economists point out many reasons for this popular trend. One is restrictive lending standards have caused many buyers, especially wealthy ones, to forgo a loan. Another is the aging baby boom generation, many of whom … (1 comments)

market trends: Greenville NC Real Estate Market Trends for April 2014 - 05/22/14 11:06 PM
The spring housing market is beginning to heat up. National Association of Realtors® Chief Economist Lawrence Yun predicts sales activity to steadily pick up, provided more inventory reaches the market and job growth continues. Yun says price growth is also rising. This year’s spring market offers many opportunities for those thinking about selling their home.
Before a home is listed for sale sellers should prepare it with an eye toward what appeals to today’s buyers – something a Realtor® can help sellers with. Enhancing curb appeal and showcasing areas like kitchens and bathrooms is helpful. Also, make sure the home is … (1 comments)

Reversal of Scheduled Fee Increase
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were scheduled to increase the fees they charge lenders for guaranteeing mortgages this year. The fees often trickle down to borrowers and result in higher mortgage rates. In his fist policy decision as the new Federal Housing Finance Agency director, Mel Watt, signaled that maintaining borrowers' access to mortgage credit is a high priority by putting a stop to the increased fees. Watt has called for further study of the potential impact increased fees will have on borrowers.

House Hunting During the Holidays

Yes, it’s true…real estate activity slackens during the holidays but here are some things to consider about housing hunting during the holidays…
Lower seasonal prices are likely before the anticipated increases in 2014. Many homes on the market during the holidays are being offered because the sellers are being transferred. January is a high workplace transfer month. Transferees are trying to sell their homes during the holidays because they feel they have to. Less competition among buyers is common because many are concentrating on holiday activities. If they don’t have to move for some … (0 comments)

Bond Purchasing Program Keep Interest Rates Low
The Fed recently announced they would continue their current pace of purchasing bonds until the economy was stronger. This bond purchasing program is the reason that mortgage interest rates are at historic lows. Rates began to increase over the last several months just on the anticipation that the Fed would announce that they would be reducing the level of bond purchases last month. When that didn’t happen, rates actually decreased.
That was great news for any buyer in the process of purchasing a home. However, this window of opportunity is expected to close in … (1 comments)

Hurricane Sandy’s immediate impact on real estate in the hardest hit Northeastern neighborhoods has become painfully evident, from New Jersey shore houses completely swept away by the sea to entire neighborhoods like Queens’ Breezy Point tragically leveled to the ground. But this latest natural disaster won’t just affect certain ZIP codes, it will weigh on America’s housing market as a whole, according to Forbes.com.

Everyone knows that the Greenville real estate market has been rather daunting for the last several years.
