Fannie and Freddie securities sale nets a 10% profit for US government! Though the housing and TARP bailouts are still being paid back, last week brought some good news. Maybe, it's time we all took a deep breath and started looking at the glass as half-full, instead of half-empty. Then, again, I'm sure there are plenty of nay-sayers out there who simply WANT to continue to whine about the economy and yell about the bail-outs. We are turning the metaphorical corner. AVOID FORECLOSURE! I see the billboards. I see it on the internet. I see the ads for agents who claim to be foreclosure prevention experts. And while those claims are technically correct, I believe many of the advertisements are misleading and purposefully so. The billboards appeal to homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure. Hoping against hope, these borrowers pick up the phone and call the number. In a short devotional at church today, I told the congregation that I am a lucky woman, having hit the TRIFECTA of fathers, for I have been blessed by three wonderful Dads in my life--my Dad, my father-in-law, and my husband. We were never allowed to call my Dad "Father," because he said that there is only one Father and he is in Heaven. Dad was the dominant force in our house.
