Unless you're blogging for your own amusement, you're writing for an audience.  Determining what that audience wants or needs from you is critical to success.
If you're blogging to other agents, you start with a common baseline of experiences and language, so different topics and expectations apply.  Whether you're seeking to educate or just stay top of mind, your audience has expectations.  Meet those expectations and the seats in your virtual stadium start to fill.  Over time, your audience grows and the opportunity to gain opportunities increases, even if you never publish market reports or anything specific to your real estate market.

When I blogged daily I had certain days for certain topics.
The first of the month, a top line market snapshot, and those posts had two audiences:  area consumers that want to know how the real estate market is doing (going up, down, sideways, should I sell or should I buy?) and less importantly IMO other Rainers as an opportunity to show them your market and that we have a handle on it.
Tuesdays are Ask An Ambassador posts, and they're basically Pay It Forward type posts.  Tidbits of what I've learned about blogging, this community, etc. that hopefully help other members be … (19 comments)

When you're a blogger, you don't want to be the lone voice in the middle of the wilderness, shouting into the wind and no one to hear you.  You want to be heard.
Now blog posts come in all kind of varieties, and some will attract more engagement than others:
Market reports Subdivision summaries Listings Open houses Local Events
