nc: ICY Apex, North Carolina? Ponds frozen? How North are we? - 01/18/11 01:53 AM
Does this winter weather seem extreme in all parts of the country lately? From floods and rain in the West to Christmas blizzards in New York City to ice storms in the South, we're seeing it all this year.
Sunday was finally a nice day here in the Peak of Good Living of Apex North Carolina, so we took the opportunity to take a family walk with the dog to our favorite neighborhood park- Crowder Park off TenTen Rd.

Lo and behold, there was ice on the pond!! 5 days after our big ice storm, parts of the pond … (3 comments)

nc: North Carolina and the Dreaded "Wintry Mix" - 12/16/10 05:08 AM
Well, here we are again in the frozen tundra of Apex North Carolina!  Many of us former Northerners have been complaining all week about the cold weather that we thought we had escaped.

For the last few days the "weather people" have been predicting a "wintry mix" for today. Meaning it could snow, sleet, rain, or hail. They've covered all the bases by calling it a wintry mix.
As usual, whenever something like this is predicted, everyone runs to the store to stock up on milk, bread, and eggs, like we're not going to see civilization again for months.

nc: Crowder Park In Apex North Carolina - A great area to live in! - 04/04/10 02:03 AM
The community surrounding Crowder Park in Apex North Carolina loves it's park, especially in Spring. There's nothing like one of the first warm days of spring, especially when the children are off of school, to bring families out to Crowder Park.
With the trees in early bloom and the azaleas just starting to produce some color, Crowder Park in Apex North Carolina was brimming with activity this week.
Located at 4709 TenTen Rd, near the intersection of Holly Springs Rd, Crowder Park was opened in 1998 with land donated by Mrs. Doris Crowder and funds from Wake County.

nc: Cards for Heroes- Helping Our Miitary However We Can - 10/13/08 04:23 AM
On Sunday, October 12, 2008, my good friend, former client, real estate assistant, and top notch Stampin Up demonstrator Deena Boos, hosted her second Cards for Heroes charity event to benefit all of our service men & women over seas.
The Cards for Heroes organization is a wonderful group that gathers handmade greeting cards and sends them overseas to our soldiers for their personal use. Our soldiers are very thankful to have such nice cards to send home to their families.
Deena and 4 other demonstrators from the Apex North Carolina area used their creative talents to design a card … (5 comments)

nc: ABC's of Fine Wine in Apex, NC - Local Wine Tasting Event - 09/07/08 07:50 AM
We recently received a postcard in the mail for the grand opening of a new wine store in Apex,  The Apex Beverage Company.  Yes, direct mail postcards apparently do work!
Having recently been to the central California area of wine country, my husband and I thought we'd stop in and check out a wine tasting in our own town this weekend.
Although the Apex Beverage Company has been open since July, they held off on holding the grand opening tasting weekend until they felt ready. My opinion..... they were ready!
The owners, Jake & Eric, were both very knowledgeable and friendly. Eric poured us … (0 comments)

nc: Cary NC July 2008 Housing Market report- Supply & Demand - 08/22/08 02:27 AM
Supply and  Demand- Economics 101, still continues to hold true.
The numbers for the housing market in Cary NC appear to be following the same trend as the rest of Wake county.... after a slight pickup in May & June, giving everyone a little hope for a rebound this summer, sales slumped again in July.

There were 110 homes sold in Cary in July while there were 654 homes for sale.  The numbers show that last year at this time there were only 375 homes on the market and 175 homes sold.

Instead of homes being on … (1 comments)

nc: Wake County July 2008 Housing Market - 08/21/08 03:39 AM
The statistics are out for the month of July for the Triangle area of North Carolina.  And in almost all areas, sales are down a bit from the increases we had seen in the months of May & June, quelling any hopes for a summer surge, as we had seen in previous years.

Sales were down slightly with 1316 homes sold as compared to June, when 1484 homes sold.  However, June of 2007 saw 2279 homes sold.

Sellers can expect to see their homes sit on the market a little longer now at 84 days as an average … (0 comments)

With all the concern lately about the stability of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, I thought a little background information might be helpful:
