One of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I always get asked is "so how is the property market in Ottawa ?", well let me answer that Ottawa Real Estate question with Statistics taken for February Sales from the Ottawa Real Estate Board's RealtorLink website that shows the market to firmly be a "seller's market". "Ottawa, March 5,2010 : Members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 1,118 residential properties in February through the Board's Multiple Listing Service® system compared with 787 in February 2009, an increase of 42.1 per cent. One of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I often get asked by Buyers and Sellers is "what do you think will happen to the interest rates ?" David Rosenberg is chief strategist for Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc. and a guest columnist for Report on Business says on January 27,2010, "In a nutshell, the Canadian market is already braced for 50 basis points of tightening from the Bank of Canada by September. With that in mind, it is difficult to believe that there is any significant rate risk here; if anything, the surprise will be that the bank is on hold (0 comments)

- 11/09/09 01:20 AM
Have you ever come to think about why most family homes are 3 bedroom homes in Ottawa ? This definitely seems to be the most frequently designed footprint of all the townhomes and houses.Sure there are 2 bedroom condos in Ottawa, and there are 4 bedroom homes in Ottawa, but by far there seem to be more 3 bedroom homes in Ottawa than any other ! This is probably because designers way back then could have done some research that there are more people with a family with 2 chidren, than there are people with a family of 3 or more children, and so (1 comments)

Do you require 3 bedroom homes in Ottawa ? Or 4 bedroom homes in Ottawa ? I often get asked a question by my Buyers whether they should buy 3 bedroom homes in Ottawa or spend a few thousand extra dollars and buy 4 bedroom homes in Ottawa. My answer is that "It depends on your family's needs and current expansion plans" because if you have 2 children currently but are planning to expand the family, then rather buy one of the lovely 4 bedroom homes in Ottawa now than go through the trouble of selling, paying real estate commission, buying ,paying closing costs (1 comments)

One of the most frequently asked Ottawa Real Estate Questions on everybody's mind this week, has to be "What will I do to prepare my kid for Halloween in Ottawa this weekend ?" Well Halloween has a lot to do with real estate as it involves the kids coming to knock on strange doors and so I have taken a few tips from the Ottawa Police Website that I thought might help the parents this Halloween: CostumesIt is important that when helping a child pick out a costume, safety should be the main concern. Wear a light-coloured or bright costume, reflective tape (0 comments)

One of trhe Ottawa Real Estate Questions I always get asked is "what is the best season to Sell my house ?" And this is one of the Best Ottawa Real Estate Questions a Seller can ever ask me, because I always tell them two things:- 1.You should sell your home when everyone else is NOT Selling their home i.e. reduce the competition when there are not a lot of homes for Sale. That is when it is a "Seller's Market" like is the MARKET CONDITIONS right now in the Ottawa Real Estate Market, because now there is a shortage of homes for Sale (0 comments)

One of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I never have to ask myself is whether my CELL PHONE is a necessary tool in my business !! Well if you do not own a cell phone or a Blackberry or equivalent devise, you simply cannot be in this business.Yet new traffic laws from October 26th are coming into effect whereby you can get a $500 fine for talking on your cell phone whilst driving.Apparently this fine kicks in from February 1st 2010.I for one am going to struggle with this new rule, using the time on the road to return calls etc, (0 comments)

One of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I often get asked is whether Real Estate is a great investment for a Retirement Plan.Well how could I honestly answer "no?" One of the more significant Ottawa Real Estate Questions is really whether Real Estate should be a part of your investment portfolio, or exclusively be your Retirement Plan ? Well I guess that depends on the individual.Accumulating 4-5 properties throughout your working life , say between ages of 35-50 with tenants to pay the Mortgages is a good strategy considering that in 25 years time (age 60-75) these properties should be paid for and (1 comments)

One of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I often ask of myself is how come is it that Sellers would prefer to give their home to the Agent who sold them the house, BEFORE they will offer it to the Agent who keeps in constant contact with them, even if the previous Agent has not contacted them for several years.Surely one should be interviewing which Agent has one`s best interests at heart, and this is surely the Agent who is in constant contact with you, as opposed to the one who made commission through you 2 years ago and has disappeared (0 comments)

One of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I often get asked is "what is the best time to buy Property?" Well I guess it depends on your personal circumstances, but I think if one can , it is always a good time to buy property TODAY.Especially in the Ottawa market where if you wait a year the property will most likely go up by 5% , so on a $300 000 Property, putting off your decision to buy for a year could cost you $15 000. And have you ever pondered on the thought, "what is the best time to do (0 comments)

On of the Ottawa Real Estate Questions I often hear people ask themselves, sometimes not verbally, but internally, is this: "Is my decision to buy this Property based on impulsiveness, or decisiveness?".The answer to one of these important Ottawa Real Estate Questions is not always pertaining to real estate , but to life.
