home staging fresno selling by designstaging fresno ca staging fresno staged homes clovis ca: Whoa, Back It Up! The Camera, I mean. - 06/12/12 07:38 AM
As part of my continuing education as a home staging professional in Fresno, Ca for Selling By Design-Staging I like to keep up with local MLS listings. Lately I've noticed that  a lot of the photos are up close shots of details in the home. Highlighting the home's finishes, granite, back splashes, unusual or expensive floor tile designs, stained glass windows etc. is always a good idea, but most of the pictures should be shots of the whole room. The detail shots should focus in on what has already been photographed in a wide shot.
I just saw a listing in which … (7 comments)

home staging fresno selling by designstaging fresno ca staging fresno staged homes clovis ca: How To Stretch Your Home Staging Inventory Budget In Fresno, CA - 08/31/11 01:51 PM
In the world of professional home staging we are always faced with the challenge of making homes look beautiful on very limited budgets in order to save our clients money. I have been asked a number of times where I get my staging inventory and how much I have to pay for it.
I love a deal and I love to brag about where and how I got it. I know it's supposed to be tacky to talk about how much one paid for things, but in the interest of continuing education, here are a few of the pieces I have … (9 comments)

home staging fresno selling by designstaging fresno ca staging fresno staged homes clovis ca: In Real Estate It's Not Just What's On The Inside That Counts - 01/29/11 09:00 AM
In the world of home staging, or real estate staging, the timeless adage, "It's what's on the inside that counts," does not apply. If a seller wants to coax potential buyers inside a house it had better look clean, fresh and inviting on the outside first.
Of course the inside must be clean, fresh and inviting also. But the first impression of a house will be of its exterior. It may entice the buyers in or cause them to just drive by. With this in mind here are ten things that a homeowner  should do before a house goes on the … (4 comments)

home staging fresno selling by designstaging fresno ca staging fresno staged homes clovis ca: Can A House Be Beautiful, Priced Right, In A Great Location And Still Be Unsellable? - 01/28/11 10:29 AM
Beautiful yet unsellable? As a home staging professional I have seen countless homes that are beautifully, often professionally decorated, but are unsellable.
"How is that possible," a seller may ask, " I hired the best decorator in town, these fabrics are imported."
Or you might hear, " These are priceless antiques."
" All our friends say our house is lovely."
"Yes," I reply, "Your home is beautiful and it's perfect for you. But it needs to be seen as perfect for prospective buyers."
Sometimes that is enough to make the light dawn and they … (16 comments)

home staging fresno selling by designstaging fresno ca staging fresno staged homes clovis ca: Decluttered, Clean But No "WOW!" - 01/11/11 10:30 AM
The word seems to be spreading regarding the merits of home staging. Sellers and real estate agents are getting the idea, but not the picture. At least not the picture a potential buyer needs.
The term  "shows well" is often used to describe a home that has been decluttered and are clean, but are for lack of better term, is boring. The person who staged the home whether it be the owner, the REA, or even a would be  home stager has neutralized the house so much that it has become forgettable.
Of course it has to be neutral looking enough … (4 comments)

home staging fresno selling by designstaging fresno ca staging fresno staged homes clovis ca: A Bad Picture Could Cost A Home Seller Thousands. Selling By Design-Staging, Fresno C - 12/09/10 09:35 AM
There they sit, the UNSOLD, (like the last kid picked for the team) nice homes in good neighborhoods, great curb appeal, but ignored by buyers. As a home staging professional in Fresno, CA, I have been asked by people why some homes sell quickly and why others remain for sale for months, sometimes even a year or more. This sad drama is taking place all over the country, not just in Fresno.
We know, it's the economy, right? Partially, but not completely. Many homes sell within a few months, some in as little as a week. So what is the problem … (8 comments)
