staged to sell: Decluttered, Clean But No "WOW!" - 01/11/11 10:30 AM
The word seems to be spreading regarding the merits of home staging. Sellers and real estate agents are getting the idea, but not the picture. At least not the picture a potential buyer needs.
The term  "shows well" is often used to describe a home that has been decluttered and are clean, but are for lack of better term, is boring. The person who staged the home whether it be the owner, the REA, or even a would be  home stager has neutralized the house so much that it has become forgettable.
Of course it has to be neutral looking enough … (4 comments)

There they sit, the UNSOLD, (like the last kid picked for the team) nice homes in good neighborhoods, great curb appeal, but ignored by buyers. As a home staging professional in Fresno, CA, I have been asked by people why some homes sell quickly and why others remain for sale for months, sometimes even a year or more. This sad drama is taking place all over the country, not just in Fresno.
We know, it's the economy, right? Partially, but not completely. Many homes sell within a few months, some in as little as a week. So what is the problem … (15 comments)
