local google advertising: Above The Fold | Battle Between Graphics Department And SEO Department - 07/17/11 06:37 PM
There is constant tension between a companies SEO department and it's "graphics" department: a fist fight for who gets to edit "above the fold" IF.. if you concede to having a glitzy flash banner or some other subjective (albeit visually appealing) graphic... You're company website or blog has just been knocked out of Google ranking. Text rules Google's Roost   The machine that runs Google's Ranking (it's an algorithm, a mathematical equation) can't make subjective distinctions, it can not look at the Mona Lisa and tell you why it's "better" than a little kids water color Now TEXT G can "parse", … (0 comments)

local google advertising: Why Your Company Website Isn’t Showing Up In Google Local Listings? - 05/31/11 08:23 PM
by ApexPredator on 2010/08/24
Reading time: 4 – 6 minutes
Why is your company website not showing up in Google Local Listings?
What’s the most valuable part of your website and blog?
The title and the opening line of text.
The first words out your mouth need to be what your prospect wants… NOT what you want to say about yourself.
No One Gives a Damn Who You Are
Nor do they really care if you “welcome them to your website”
The most common gross tactical error I see in company websites of all kinds is to open with:

Yahoo can provide traffic to your site via means other than Yahoo…Even though Google is the big Kaunas. Fix your Yahoo Listing to fix your Google ranking

Geographical Google Trust Geographical Google Trust: one thing most SEO's miss is to get the client to rank NOT for the keywords that people type in (see my blog post "It's a Keyword Driven Economy http://www.frederickwebpromotions.com/2011/01/23/its-a-keyword-driven-economy/ )

local google advertising: What you don't know CAN hurt you! If you are promoting your business on Facebook you should check this out - 01/02/11 05:26 PM
Facebook (For Business Promotion) Gross Tactical Error most businesses make:
Businesses assume Social Media is for getting YOUR message out. Facebook filters out business messages that don't meet certain criteria So you got your business on Facebook and you're hoping to "get your message out" via social media, how do you know anyone is seeing what you're posting?
When you put something on your FB wall, you're assuming all of your Facebook friends are going to see it? You sure about that?
Everybody knows they need to do something to promote their local small business on Facebook

local google advertising: What Tone Should Your Blogging Voice Be? - 08/24/10 06:20 AM
You guys n gals are real estate professionals.
I, on the other hand "did stay at a Holiday Express last night".
I'm a Local SEO/ Social Media Marketing Contractor, specializing in the real estate industry.
What "voice" do I recommend you use when blogging?
In my not so humble opinion, blogging is NOT stuffed shirt, it is coloquial, it's a conversation...
the reason it's so effective is due to it NOT being "same old/ same old"
You *could* argue that a blogger is less than a journalist, it's somehow "messy", almost "blue collar", and you'd be right... I'm saying that's WHY … (5 comments)

local google advertising: Should Real Estate Facebook Pages Have Competing Real Estate Agents As FB Friends/ Fans - 08/24/10 05:51 AM
A fellow ActiveRain real estate bloggger asked me a question, I felt the answer would be useful to the entire AR community:

Hi Mike,
To answer your question requires that I split the answer into 2 parts:
Facebook Friends and Facebook Business Page Fans.
With regard to FB friends (on your PERSONAL FB Profile) having competing RE agents post their offerings on your wall could only serve to further them and not you... within FB's edge rank (ranking algorithim) having relevant "objects" (people, contacts, and websites could be considered "objects") *should* serve to improve your ranking within Facebook.

local google advertising: 162 Characters Between Your Website And Google Oblivion - 08/23/10 12:57 PM
As a Local Google Advertising expert I'm often asked to get a corporate website to rank higher in Google's SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages). 80% of that work off site, that is the work I do is NOT to the clients site, it consists of creating external sites that link to the company site. Of the remaining 20% of what I do is divided between 'under the hood' changes to the site's code and altering the position of and strategic placement of copy on the existing corporate website.
Almost always a client comes to me with an existing website.

local google advertising: Why Does SEO Cost So Much - 08/06/10 06:32 AM
I'm often asked why it costs so much for a webmaster to pay an SEO professional to improve a company website's rank in Google. The often steep fees charged by competent SEO consultants can price some small businesses out of the market.
The ROI or return on investment from increased sales or leads from a top ranked spot in Google can double a businesses gross sales.
Why is it a company has no problem paying $30,000 for a pick up truck that earns no income but balk at paying $5,000 or $10,000 for a top ranking in local Google search … (0 comments)
