I read an article in the Deseret News this morning that said according to the Census Bureau Utah has the fastest growth rate in the US. Utah's population grew by 2.5% from July 2007 to July 2008. Arizona (2.3%), Texas (2%), North Carolina (2%) and Colorado (2%) round out the top 5. Utah's population grew by 67,449 people to a total of 2.74 million. Of the new increase 43,212 people were from "natural increase" (births - deaths). The other 24,428 people immigrated to Utah, 17,605 from other states, and 528 from other countries.
