Aside from increasing your home’s charm factor, this amenity offers you an outdoor space where you can relax or entertain depending on the day and your preferences. But just because you’ve got one that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re making the most of it. If your porch isn’t living up to its full potential, perhaps you just need a little inspiration. Check out these covetable spots that explain why porch envy is a popular hashtag. Go ahead, pour a … (1 comments)

real estate: Should You Offer A Bonus When Selling A Home? - 05/09/17 08:42 AM
Sometimes people wonder whether offering a bonus to the buyer's agent will help their home sell faster or for more money. Good question. Even real estate agents are divided about it. Some say no. Some say yes. Ultimately, it's your decision as a homeowner. So here's a list of pros and cons for you to think about before you make the decision.
The ProsLet's be honest, offering a bonus to the buyer's agent is meant to incentivize the agent to sell your house. It's basically playing on the desire of a real estate agent to make more money than they would make … (3 comments)

There are millions of homes bought and sold every year, most of them with the help of a real estate agent. However, there is still a segment of the population that chooses to go it alone when it comes time to sell or buy a home. There are different reasons for this, many of which aren't very good. The only good reason might be if you're an agent yourself, and even then, it might be better to work with another agent so that you're not letting your own emotion cloud your judgment. Here are some of the worst reasons for not … (2 comments)

real estate: Do You Hate When Real Estate Agents Ask You This Question? - 03/07/17 09:08 AM
Have you ever gone to an open house? Or called a real estate agent about a listing you see? Maybe e-mail an agent about a property he/she has listed? You just want to check out a house. Maybe you're just curious. Or, maybe you're even pretty serious about buying a house. Doesn't matter. All you're doing is wondering about a house. That's it. That's what you want to talk to the agent about...the house you came to see, or called about. And it seems like one of the first questions an agent asks you is, "Do you have a house to … (2 comments)

real estate: 8 Signs That You Were Destined to Work in Real Estate - 02/10/17 10:04 AM
Very few people are lucky enough to know what they want to do from a young age and even fewer are fortunate enough to see their dream through. You might have wanted to become an astronaut when you were 4 years old, but the chances that you're currently orbiting earth in the International State Station are fairly slim. But what we think we want to do and what we're destined to do aren't always the same thing. Many real estate agents try various professions before they find their true calling. There's an old saying, "A (wo)man does what he can, until … (3 comments)

real estate: Have you saved enough to cover the closing costs? - 01/23/17 09:04 AM
There are many potential homebuyers, and even sellers, who believe that they need at least a 20% down payment in order to buy a home or move on to their next home. Time after time, we have dispelled this myth by showing that many loan programs allow you to put down as little as 3% (or 0% with a VA loan).
If you have saved up your down payment and are ready to start your home search, one other piece of the puzzle is to make sure that you have saved enough for your closing costs.
Freddie Mac defines closing costs as:
“Closing costs, also called … (1 comments)

real estate: What does MLK have to do with Real Estate? - 01/15/17 11:19 AM
Fill in the blank...
“I have a _________...”
It doesn’t take a psychic to know what word you chose.
Was it “dream”? Good chance it was.
We all know this line from Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous speech. So when we hear those first three words, it sort of naturally comes to mind. But what many people aren’t aware of is how much he affected the lives of real estate agents, buyers, and sellers. It was his death that gave Congress the last push needed to pass the Fair Housing Act, back in 1968. It’s pretty involved, but to put it simply... This was put … (1 comments)

I signed up on this new marketing website and they host a ton of different ideas. I tend to be a fan of games and puzzles so I am leaning towards this quiz idea but wanted to get some opinions...

Oh.My.Heck!
"Thank goodness for friends" is all I can say about my first time taking a listing.

I had been in the Mortgage Lending side of the Real Estate transaction for nearly 30 years. I had developed many Realtor relationships, I knew the contracts like the back of my hand, I understood the timelines, process and procedures. When I decided it was time to leave the corporate world and start something new, Real Estate seemed like the most logical move.
During  the first year after receiving my license, I was learning and earning by being a Transaction Coordinator for several of the Agents in … (0 comments)

real estate: Words to live by - 07/29/16 02:13 AM

I am sure no one has to tell this group how important referrals are.  When we work with our clients, we should not be in it for "getting the job done" or only see them as a commission check.  We need to be focused on the experience that blows them away and leaves them so impressed that they can’t help but tell everyone about it.  Good testimonials and more importantly referrals are the absolute best marketing tools available, and we can always use more.

Any guesses on who wrote that quote?
