Art Imitates Life at Addison WaterTower Theatre's Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Conan O'Brien may be getting the boot from NBC, much the same way the fictional character Max Prince is dismissed by NBC in Neil Simon's play Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Set in 1953, the production centers around Max, the funniest comedian on televison, and his writers. Laughter on the 23rd Floor is based on Simon's days of writing for Sid Caesar's TV gig, Your Show of Shows and the characters are based on real people:
