Lorrie's Using "Horrors" and "Addison" in the Same Sentence? What's Up?
What's up is the Addison WaterTower Theatre's production of Little Shop of Horrors. Previews begin July 22, 2011 and the performances run through August 21st.
The Women of WaterTower (WOW!) were treated to a sneak peek at last night's dress rehersal.  Seymour is played by Jason Kennedy and Mary Gilbreath Grim reprises the role of Audrey.  Puppeteer Kevin Moore and the voice of Joseph Holt bring Audrey II, the blood-thirsty plant to life. There is a wacky dentist, high on nitrous oxide (Alex Organ); the owner of Mushnik's flower shop … (2 comments)

If you find yourself with a free evening between now and June 20th (2010), head over to the WaterTower Theatre at 15650 Addison Road, Addison TX for a real treat.
Black Pearl Sings! is a live theater performance of a Frank Higgins play, directed by Terry Martin, featuring two powerful performances by Diana Sheehan and Liz Mikel.  These women can sing!  I attended last night's performance and am still thinking about the play.
Set in the mid 1930s, the play's only characters are Susannah Mullally, a Library of Congress employee who travels the country recording lost traditional songs and Alberta "Pearl" … (1 comments)

watertower theatre: Addison's WaterTower Theatre: 2009 Season - 09/21/09 08:26 AM
Addison's WaterTower Theatre: 2009 Season
The 2009 season of Addison's WaterTower Theatre kicks off on October 1st with Grey Gardens the Musical.  Book by Doug Wright, music by Scott Frankel; lyrics by Michael Korie.
Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter "Little Edie" - the eccentric relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis live behind the closed doors of a dilapidated mansion, alongside fifty cats and piles of rubbish.
Two shockingly different worlds are depicted inside the mansion walls: the resplendent Grey Gardens of 1941 and the Grey Gardens of 1973 - a crumbling shadow of its former self.
Based upon the groundbreaking documentary … (3 comments)

"When you meet a gent paying all kinds of rent For a flat that could flatten the Taj Mahal. Call it sad, call it funny. But it's better than even money That the guy's only doing it for some doll...." music from my all-time favorite musical, Guys and Dolls.
Guys and Dolls, In Concert!
Frank Loesser's hilarious romantic comedy - considered by many (including me) to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway.  Join Addison's WaterTower Theatre and the Dallas Wind Symphony as they introduce two couples betting on love despite the long odds.   Guys and … (8 comments)

Ah, Addison! Not a city, but a "town." The Town of Addison. The best place to live and work in North Texas. There's something to be said about a place that doesn't take itself too seriously. Note the exclamation point in the town's name. Here you'll find the ruminations, rants and raves of one of the town's realtors and residents.
