As I walk around San Francisco this spring, I've been more aware of all the colors I see in the neighborhoods more than many other times. I've shared some yellow photos, then pink and green.
When the skies cleared on Wednesday and Thursday, I was struck by BLUE - brilliant blue, soft blue, navy blue, ocean blue.
Some years, when the Blue Angels perform over San Francisco Bay in October, the skies really are as blue as in the picture.
You'll spot blue houses around town, like this one on Jackson Street in Pacific Heights.

This week is Fleet Week 2016 in San Francisco. As usual, it kicks off mid-week and culminates with the thrilling air shows, extended to 3-days this year. Activities began today and increase tomorrow.
By Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Fleet week is in full swing, with the parade of ships one day and air shows all three afternoons. Activities wind down next Monday.
Here's a rundown of activities, as reported on SF Gate. I have highlighted some of the most popular events in red:
THURSDAY
8 a.m.-12 p.m.: Softball tournament finals with the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Band, Moscone Rec Center, 1800 Chestnut St.

This is Fleet Week in San Francisco with many activities for all to enjoy.

Fleet Week provides the opportunity to tour naval ships, enjoy the parade of ships as they enter the bay from under the Golden Gate Bridge, and meet and greet U.S. Navy officers and enlisted men.
The most anxiously awaited event each year is the air show, which is visible to many thousands of people in San Francisco, in Marin County just across the Golden Gate Bridge, and in the east bay towns of Berkeley, Oakland and Alameda.

Fleet Week is back this year, and no where is it more grand or better appreciated than in San Francisco.
According to Wikipedia, Fleet Week originated in San Diego in 1935. An annual tradition in San Francisco since 1981, disappointment was high when it was canceled in 2013 due to government funding uncertainties. But it's back this year, the interest level is high this year, and the weather forecast is favorable.
