fairmont hotel: A little SF fog doesn't dampen an Active Rain Meetup - 07/29/17 09:50 AM
We got a jump start on the fall Active Rain Meet Ups (see Bob Crane's post about meetups) yesterday when Gita Bantwal and I met for breakfast at the elegant Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
Even "Karl the Fog" (yes, it's summer in San Francisco) couldn't put a chill on the warm conversation we shared over pancakes and oatmeal, with a pot of coffee at hand.

Christmas!

A simple picture, but it speaks volumes to me - It's Christmas Time in the City!
This lamp post is top Nob Hill. The Fairmont Hotel is on the left; the Mark Hopkins Hotel the tall building peeking out from behind the almost-bare tree. Powell Street, with it's famous cable car line, is one short block down California Street. Turn right onto Powell (a steep down grade--if you're wearing high heels, you might tip over ) and walk 4 short blocks and you'll arrive at Union Square, the hub of the shopping district, lavishly decorated for the holidays.
