Many of you know about the San Francisco fog. It is such a presence in the city that someone (a deep, dark secret) gave it a name, "Karl the Fog." Karl has been visiting us a lot more than usual this November, more of a summer pattern than one of fall. He doesn't stay all day, and doesn't visit every neighborhood equally, but he's had fun lately playing games with us - will he appear or won't he? Life has a way of throwing curve balls, whether they are major ones like health issues, death, divorce or minor ones, like being too busy, too tired, or too distracted to pay attention. Sooner or later we all experience both the large and small issues, and I'm no different. As some of you know, I have dealt with breast cancer three times now. The first was way back in 1993; for 24 years I was fine and considered the event an anomaly.
