I believe we are just at the tip of seeing our way of life change change quite drastically for an extended period of time while we wait to see the extent of the Covid-19 virus.
Living in the midst of an urban area, quite likely we are at the leading edge of this change.
Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, schools have been closed for anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks. Public gatherings of larger than 50 people are banned; gatherings of 10 or more discouraged for older adults or those medically compromised. The public libraries are now closed. health: Throwback Thursday-Half Dome hike 1993 - 06/30/16 05:11 AM
I haven't posted a Throwback Thursday photo for ages, but when I saw the shot of Machu Picchu that Sheila Anderson posted today, my mind thought of some of the mountain peaks I have reached.
These two photos date back to 1993. Gene and I were dating then (married 20 years now). My daughter Susan and her friend had just graduated from high school, and I had finished all of my cancer radiation treatments the week before.
We decided to try our planned 17+ mile hike from Yosemite Valley to the top of Half Dome and back. Would I make it?
