life in san francisco: The Romance of San Francisco - 08/31/16 01:27 PM
San Francisco is a destination city for many vacationers from around the world. It's popular with conventioneers and sports enthusiasts.
It's a dream city for many residents and would-be residents, too.
For many, the romance begins with their first view of the Golden Gate Bridge and The City. Did you know that a home (condo or single-family home) with views of the Golden Gate Bridge can carry a premium price tag of $100,000-$500,000 or more than a similar home with no bridge view? The view never gets boring, and isn't the same two days in a row - the fog swirls in, the … (17 comments)

I think wearing my "Let It Rain" shirt did the trick!
By noontime today some much needed rain is expected to begin to hit San Francisco, making it's way down the Peninsula and into Silicon Valley.
Yes, I listen to the weather forecast, but it confirm it with a look out my window. Here are a couple of shots early this morning.
Get your umbrellas ready!

We had rain today! Now, to some people in many parts of this country and Canada that might be an annoyance. To others it might be appreciated simply because it isn't snow. To us in the parched San Francisco Bay Area, it was a delight!
This evening I bundled up, grabbed my umbrella and headed out the door to run errands as I enjoyed our longed-for rain event.
Here's my top 5 list of things I discovered about walking in the rain in San Francisco:
It is windier walking along a wide avenue like Van Ness Avenue than along a neighborhood … (15 comments)

The January full-moon evening was the perfect time to get out for some exercise in lovely San Francisco. The air was balmy, the winds calm, the late afternoon sun sent its rays across the hills, the full moon gradually grew brighter and shone on the water as darkness fell.

life in san francisco: Life in San Francisco-an evening walk to the Buena Vista - 07/10/12 01:58 AM
Life in San Francisco - an evening walk to the Buena Vista Popular with visitors and residents alike, there's something special about the Buena Vista, a "saloon" which opened in 1916. It's location near Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square and the terminus of the favorite Powell/Hyde St cable car line is appealing, and it's a fine place for a casual meal. But -- the BV as it's affectionately known is really all about the Irish Coffee! Last night as we ate supper at our place, looking down at the bay, we decided a bit of a walk and a BV Irish … (8 comments)
