What, one might ask, is Pianfrancisco? The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, in conjunction with PianFrancisco, Art in the Parks will be putting pianos in one of San Francisco's oldest and most iconic buildings, Fort Point. Fort Point, nestled underneath the Golden Gate Bridge at the south anchorage of the bridge, dates back to just after the Civil War, and is now a National Historic Site. Pianos have been placed in these barren corridors for the weekend, and free piano concerts are scheduled on Saturday August 24, 2019, 1:30 - 3:30 and Sunday August 25, 2019, 1:30 - 3:30.
