real estate: Follow up post, Russian Hill Jr. 1-bedroom for sale - 05/26/18 09:50 AM
Last month I wrote about a small condo on Russian Hill that I fell in love with, and talked a bit about some of the things that make living on Russian Hill so very special. Here's that post.
I've been tracking 1147 Filbert Street, just off the cable car route on Hyde Street. This Junior one-bedroom was listed at $649,000 and sold for $746,000.
Someone has a great spot to live in San Francisco!

real estate: Are we starting to see a market shift? - 06/22/16 03:19 AM
The residential real estate market in San Mateo County and the Silicon Valley has been strongly favoring sellers since 2012-2013.
Since then prices have risen dramatically, multiple offers have been the norm on almost every listing (except the extreme high end), and buyers outnumber available homes by a wide margin.
This last month, however, I've been wondering if a shift has begun, or is the market just taking a breath as summer arrives?
It's too early to tell, but these are some interesting numbers for single family homes that I pulled for my newsletter readers.
Notice how inventory in every city has grown since … (19 comments)

real estate: Helping Seniors with their Real Estate Needs: why it's right for me - 06/29/14 11:08 PM
Helping seniors with their real estate needs is one of my favorite niche markets, and I know exactly how and way it became so for me.
Some events get seared into one's memory and become a turning point in life, and one of those for me was when my mother, then in her eighties, decided the time had come for her to sell her home of over 50 years.
The first big decision was to choose where to live: should she stay in the town she knew so well, with friends nearby; move to a nearby retirement area where many other … (29 comments)

real estate: Any signs of recovery in the Fallbrook area? - 07/11/08 12:45 AM
What's going on in Fallbrook these days? Any pick up in activity there? My client here in San Mateo County has a property she tried to sell for a year before leasing it out. Lease will be up in a handful of months, and I'm trying to get a sense of the current market. House is in the mid- to high-$700,000's. Comments will be appreciated.
