farmers market: Two more weeks for Payson's Farmers Market! (AZ) - 09/20/11 06:27 AM

All good things must end SOMETIME; and so the days are numbered for the Payson, AZ Farmers Market for 2011. This has been our third season, and it is bigger and better than ever. Not familiar with Payson? Payson is a nice little town, about an hour's drive North of the Phoenix area. It is 5,000 ft. elevation, with cooler temps, pine trees, and clear air.
There are TWO MORE Market days left- Sept. 24th and Oct. 1st. We invite you to come and enjoy it while you can! The produce is still abundant, and there are also tamales, Italian food, … (2 comments)

One more week to buy great produce, tasty tamales, scrumptious canned goods, decadent baked goods, spicy seasonings, olive oils, doggy bones, goat cheese, hummus and pesto, (I ran out of adjectives) and anything else I've forgotten!

 
Only one more market day! Next Saturday, 8am till noon! Don't miss it, or you'll have to wait for next May!

UPDATE: I just got word that Schnepf Farms from Queen Creek will be at the Market, with peaches, plums, applea,  and vine-ripe tomatoes! Come early if you want some- they may well sell out!
Payson's Farmers Market is going strong. Come by tomorrow (Sawmill Crossing shopping Center- behind Chilis restaurant) and see what's new, what's good, and who's there.
We've had an unusually cool (well, really unusually unpredictable- hot then cool) Spring, so the produce is a little scanty still, but there is some; and there are great baked goods, spices and herbs, olive oils and vinegars, goat cheese and farmers … (0 comments)

farmers market: Is it ever going to stay warm? Farmers market starting Memorial Day weekend! - 05/12/10 08:21 AM

We have had an unusually cool Spring in Payson. Well. actually we have alternated cool (even snow!) with really warm. The weather has slowed down my garden, and I imagine I'm not alone in  that. Hopefully SOME of the growers who will sell at the Farmers Market live in areas which haven't been as cool, and will have early veggies. We have bakers who produce wonderful baked goods, jams and jellies, marinades and rubs, cheese, herbs and seedlings, herbal products, a massage lady, prepared food, live entertainment- something for everyone!

What could be more fun than a small town Fourth of July celebration?
Payson offers a great fireworks celebration down by the main Green Valley lake, family fun during the day, this year the town is adding a free-to-enter parade (more about the celebrations coming soon).
Some Payson people are also starting up a Farmer's Market. beginning on the Fourth at 8 a.m. till noon, and continuing every Saturday until October. The Market will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, on West Main Street, near the lakes. Vendor fees are $5 plus 2%, and co-ops are welcome for smaller vendors.
