aggie football: Aggies and Longhorns to Play on Thanksgiving again - 01/09/08 01:49 AM
Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds and A&M athletic director, Bill Byrne has agreed to move the annual A&M/UT game back to Thanksgiving Day at the request of ESPN.
The agreement still has been worked out with the Big 12 and the TV contract finalized for the next 2 years.  But expect your Aggies to play on Thanksgiving night after the NFL games are over.
The last time the Aggies played on Thanksgiving day was 1993 at Kyle Field in College Station(my freshman year at A&M).  The teams have meet 60 times in the past on Thanksgiving Day.

aggie football: Welcome Mike Sherman back to the Aggie Family! - 11/26/07 04:21 AM
Let's welcome Mike Sherman back to the Aggie family as the new head coach for Texas A&M.  Sherman is the 28th head coach in Texas A&M history. It sure didn't take long to find a replacement for Coach Fran.  Let's hope Sherman can make us the national powerhouse that we should be!
Mike Sherman has been with the Houston Texans as the offensive coordinator and was the Green Bay Packers coach from 2000-2005.  Sherman does have Aggie connections.  Sherman was the school's offensive line coach from 1989 to 1993. He left A&M for a one-year stint with UCLA then came back to … (7 comments)

aggie football: Aggies Win in Lincoln! - 10/21/07 04:46 AM
The Aggies played the Huskers yesterday and came away with a strong win.  History was against the Aggies since we hadn't won in our last 5 trips to Lincoln but that changed yesterday with a final score of Aggies 36 - Nebraska 14.  The game wasn't on TV so I had to listen to it on the radio or keep up with live scoring on the internet.  With this win, A&M remained in a three-way tie for first place in the Big 12 South with OU and Oklahoma State.
Texas A&M rushed for 359 yards including a career high 167 rushing yards from our quarterback, … (1 comments)

aggie football: Aggies vs. Raiders - 10/12/07 11:43 PM
Will the Aggies be able to keep their first place ranking in the Big 12 South today?  The Aggies and Texas Tech Red Raiders play tonight at 2:30pm in Lubbock.
The Aggies have had a hard time beating Tech recently and haven't won in Lubbock since 1993!  But I'm hoping A&M got some confidence after their win against Oklahoma State last weekend especially since OSU beat Tech earlier this year.
The Aggies will be challenged to stop Tech's high powered offense.  Tech ranks second nationally is scoring with 52.5 points per game and is the #1 offense in the nation with … (6 comments)

aggie football: New Aggie ActiveRain Group - 10/08/07 10:32 AM
I was inspired by Carla Cullum and her Texas Longhorn Realtors group and thought that the Texas A&M Aggies needed their own ActiveRain group.
So, over the weekend I created the Texas A&M Professionals group.  This is the place to network with Aggies or those that love Texas A&M and talk everything AGGIE.  We can discuss the latest in sports, academics or life in Bryan/College Station.
  Gig'em Aggies!

aggie football: Aggies in First Place in Big 12 South - 10/06/07 05:17 PM
Aggies stand alone in first place in the Big 12 South division!!  I can't believe it but the Aggies are 2-0 in the Big 12 South and Texas is 0-2.
The Aggies had a great 2nd half against Oklahoma State today to come back from a 17 point deficit to win 24-23.  The comeback matched our largest comeback ever.  Jorvorskie Lane had another great game with 2 rushing TDs and one receiving TD, the first touchdown catch of his career.
Here is a fun stat that I came across:  Tonight's attendance of 86,217 is the No. 6 largest crowd in Kyle Field history, and … (6 comments)
