There are two potential memberships meetings left  before applications are due to become a member of the Junior League of Plano(JLP) for the 2009/2010 class.
You are invited to a potential member meeting on either Thursday, April 16 or Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at the League Office in Plano at 5805 Coit Rd. in Plano. I have enjoyed my involvement over the last 5 years and I encourage other women that are interested to attend this informational session. As many of you know, I am a member of the Junior League of Plano and the big event that I've been working on for 9 months is happening this weekend!  Trinkets to Treasures is Collin County's largest rummage sale and we will be at the Plano Centre this Saturday from 8am - 3pm.  Junior League's provisional class has been working for months to collect items from our Junior League members to sell this weekend.  There are some great deals to be found. I hope you will join me at the 2nd Annual Winemakers Dinner on Saturday, February 9 at 7pm.  It is a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day or just enjoy a lovely evening out and help the community!  Sample the wines from the Wales Manor Vineyard in McKinney, exquisitely paired with fine cuisine from the Junior League of Plano's award winning Lone Star to Five Star cookbook.  A wonderful silent auction will be featured with items including hotel packages, sports events and local spa treatments just to name a few.

I hope you will consider becoming a member of the Junior League of Plano in 2008.  I've been in this great organization since 2004 and I've really enjoyed it. 
So, what is the Junior League of Plano, you ask?  We are a women's service organization that supports multiple community programs and projects through our volunteer hours or money throughout Collin County.  It is also a wonderful way to meet many wonderful and generous women in this area.

I am proud to live and work in the City of Plano, TX with such high standards for the environment.    Nancy Nevil spoke last week at my Rotary Club and told us that Plano has recently received top honors from Keep Texas Beautiful(KTB).   The Keep Plano Beautiful organization won the 2007 Governor's Community Achievement Award, one of the most prestigious environmental awards in our state.  The award is given to the community with the best volunteer environmental programs, which are evaluated by seven criteria: community leadership, coordination, education, public awareness, litter prevention and cleanup, illegal dumping enforcement, beautification and property improvement and … (2 comments)
