plano homes: Why I love Plano, TX - 08/10/08 10:44 AM
I wanted to share with everyone why I love Plano and think it is a great place to live. I have really enjoyed living in Plano,TX for the past 8 years and can't imagine living in any other city locally.
1. Location - Plano is close to Dallas without having to deal directly with big city Dallas problems and politics. Plano is the southernmost city in Collin County so we get to enjoy the best of both worlds. To the south, I'm 25 minutes from downtown Dallas and to the north only 20 minutes to the county seat of Collin County … (13 comments)

plano homes: Plano....#1 Again - 07/01/08 04:47 AM
Salary.com has ranked Plano, TX as the #1 city in the United States to build personal wealth.  As a resident and Realtor in Plano, I can wholeheartedly agree with this ranking.
Salary.com looked at the following factors:  "Local salaries, cost of living, and unemployment relative to the national average.  This year's list also factored in qualitative measures including diversity of industry, education level of the cities' population, proximity to post secondary institutions, percent of population below poverty level, and median travel time to work."
Plano has a highly educated work force - 60% of residents have a college degree or higher … (8 comments)

plano homes: Prices are Up in Dallas - 05/23/08 03:12 PM
You wouldn't know it based on what the local media reports but local prices are UP compared to last year. The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight is reporting that Dallas/Fort Worth prices in the first quarter were up versus the same time last year (up 3.76% in Dallas and 2.59% in Fort Worth). This contrasts with a 3.1% nationwide price decline over the same period.
The local newspaper and TV stations always report national numbers but real estate in local.  You can't quote numbers for the entire nation and apply it to Dallas.
Dallas' economy is solid and our area is … (0 comments)

plano homes: Stage your Home to Sell - 01/22/08 06:59 AM
As an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP), I assist all my sellers in preparing their homes for the market. "Staging" is presenting your home in it's best and most appealing light to the majority of homebuyers. Homes that are Staged, or prepared for sale, by an Accredited Staging Professional look better than other homes on the market by being clean, clutter-free, and ready to show to prospective buyers. Staged homes traditionally sell faster and/or for more money in today's real estate market. The tips below are to help you get your home ready for showings by potential buyers. 1. First Impressions - … (0 comments)

plano homes: Plano Trivia - 12/09/07 12:30 PM
I read this on the City of Plano website and thought this information was interesting.
At 72 square miles, geographically speaking, Plano is larger than San Francisco, Boston, Minneapolis, Washington, DC and Manhattan to name but a few!  Our population is over 260,000 residents so we are smaller than these over cities but we are still growing.
With over 1,950 miles of Plano sidewalks, laid end on end they would stretch from Plano to Yosemite National Park in California with a side trip into Reno which is over 271 miles from Yosemite!
I didn't realize how large our city is geographically.  … (1 comments)

plano homes: Preview of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium - 12/07/07 03:54 AM
I thought all the sports fans out there might be interested in the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington, TX.  My family has had season tickets since the Cowboys were at the Cotton Bowl and we had our appointment last Friday with the Dallas Cowboys to pick our seats at the new stadium in Arlington.  We drove to the new stadium location and visited their preview center with our sales counselor.
Here is the stadium currently under construction.  The stadium is really big!  It won't be ready until the Fall of 2009.

If you live in Dallas, you have probably heard … (50 comments)

plano homes: Plano - What a Great Place to Live - 08/31/07 04:20 PM
New statistics from the Census Bureau on household income in America in 2006 show Plano at the top with the highest median household income for a city with more than 250,000 people.  CNNMoney.com reports the average Plano household makes $77,038 a year. That's ahead of San Jose ($73,804) and San Francisco ($65,497), and well above the national median household income of $48,451.
And our real estate market is still fairly healthy compared to other areas in the county, Plano is a great place to live!
