petalumas history: Wristwrestling to Return to Petaluma?

Many people in the Sonoma County area don't realize that in addition to the title of the "Egg Basket of the World" Petaluma was the home for the world wristwrestling tournament for over 50 years. Now finally after 10 years there has been some talk about bringing one of the national wristwrestling tournaments back to Petaluma. For an event that started in the back of a bar in Petaluma in 1952 it rose to such prominence that it attracted ABC's "Wide World of Sports" until it ultimately left in 2000 to go to Reno.
