minneapolis: WHY? What Do You Think?

This is Minnesota, the "Land of 10,000 + Lakes"! Beautiful scenery - the Fall colors are right there at the top when you compare states. The Winter is crisp and fresh with beautiful snowfalls that blanket the ground and trees in a cloak of white and some mornings the trees and bushes glitter and shimmer in the morning sun. Springtime with the crabapple blossems compares favorably with the dogwood of the south and cherry blossoms in our nations capital. Certainly more beautiful than a lot of places I can think of. There has been a lot said in the past weeks and months about the state of the housing market here in Minneapolis and throughout the United States. In some states the problem is greater than it is in others. Here in the Minneapolis area we can say there is a market correction taking place. In fact statistically some places in the Minneapolis area have actually shown a slight appreciation over the last year. minneapolis: A Major Highway Falls Into The Mississippi

What a day it has been for all the people involved in some way or another with the loss of the I35W bridge over the Mississippi River between downtown Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. It all started Wednesday evening just as the rush hour was nearing it's end but while the bridge, because of construction work that took away some of the lanes, was bumper to bumper with cars, trucks and buses going to their various destinations.
