Mama Bear Papa Bear Baby Bear - Whose Been Sighted in Your Yard?

Snow in October? - Town of Ramapo Road Closures as of 10/31/2011
Would you believe snow in October?  It seems that fall has bypassed us, or at least that winter has snuck in a quick preview.    The prediction of between 5 -9  inches of snow for this weekend was not really taken seriously by too many.  After all, we haven't seen snow in October since 1962; to say the least, we were unprepared.
The snow storm that Rockland County experienced this weekend, which left about 6-7 inches of heavy wet snow on the ground, reeked lots of havoc to the … (8 comments)

Thankful Thursdays - Rain Rain Go Away
I woke up this morning reveling in the news that I had a new grandson, born yesterday to my oldest daughter.  I found myself overly thankful that the birth went well and that mother and baby were doing fine.  In preperation for visiting my daughter and new grandson later in the day, I went out to do some shopping for them.

My first stop was Macy's at the Mall and then onto Costco.  It started pouring when I got to the mall so I wisely parked in a covered area to avoid … (28 comments)

Suffern NY Memorial Day Parade - A Day to Remember
Memorial Day is not just a day for barbecues, or the day that marks the beginning of the summer season.  It began in 1865 as a day to honor Union soldiers that died in the Civil War fighting for their country.  Because it began as a day to commemorate Union soldiers, many Southern states didn't begin to observe the day until after World War I when it officially became a day to honor all fallen soldiers from all wars.
