new boston: Dirty, Dirty, Dirty Water - 06/12/11 11:27 AM
We live in the country.  Those uninformed "city folk" might think our drinking water that comes from a well is DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY, Country water.  Although people have an idea that our well water is "dirty" like the glass illustrated to the right, the water is clean like the picture you see below!
Many years ago when I was doing some consulting for a Boston based firm, one of my colleagues came to visit me in Brookline, New Hampshire and would not drink my water.  Although I had a water softener, and an artesian well he would not drink it.  "No … (9 comments)

Next month (shortly), school will be out and many working real estate Moms in Hollis, Brookline and surrounding communities in New Hampshire will need to find things for the kids to do!  Keep them busy.
Hopefully the links below are exact and useful.  When I tried to locate some camps and things for kids to do on the internet, I kept googling Hollis, Brookline, Milford, Amherst and I got all kinds of sites that bundle links to all sorts of businesses and people trying to capture my name and email … (2 comments)

new boston: First Man In Space Day - April 12, 1961 - 04/12/11 11:50 AM
TODAY'S TIDBIT OF HISTORY: Many curious Americans think of Alan Shepard as the first man in space.  However, a Russian Cosmonaut named Yuri Gagarin beat Shepard into space by a month.
April 12th, 1961, Yuri Gagarin was the first person in space, making a 108-minute orbital flight in his Vostok 1 spacecraft. Newspapers like the one above highlighted the accomplishment.

new boston: We've Come A LONG Way in Real Estate - 01/12/11 09:45 AM
We've Come A LONG Way in Real Estate in Southern New Hampshire.
Does anyone remember in the 80's when there was a big book that was disseminated to the real estate agent/office once a month from the multiple listing service.
This book was printed & published in black and white AND was only available to you if you were part of MLS. It was the only thing available for searching for the "perfect" home for your buyer.
The only hitch was that the book was a month old.  If someone happened to be driving around the neighborhood and saw the … (3 comments)

new boston: Consumption of Fossil Fuels & Resources - 11/24/10 11:57 PM
Yesterday I decided to blog about electric heat because of the fallacies that people have about electricity as a heat source here in New Hampshire.
A blogger made a good point - fossil fuels in NH use to be far less expensive than electricity.  However, that is no longer the case with the price of oil consistently on the rise.
While blogging about geothermal, wind turbine, and electricity it occurred to me there must be a comprehensive "energy" site that can assist consumers with determining the best option.
The U.S. Department of Energy has a great site that talks about fossil … (1 comments)
