investor: Is this business worth my life?! - 05/07/08 07:51 AM
OK so I learned a very valuable lesson today-at the point of a gun!
Previously being a Lieutenant at the Sheriffs Department in charge of a unit that specialized in reducing gang activity in the worst parts of the county, I am no stranger to the use of guns. But as a Realtor, this is one thing I really didn't anticipate dealing with.
I have a listing that The seller and I agreed yesterday to reduce the price, so I thought since I have to redo all my ads I would take more pictures to add. No big deal, I drove to the … (9 comments)

investor: Dundalk, Baltimore County 21222-Real Estate 1st qtr - 04/06/08 01:35 AM
Isn't it hard to believe that it is April already? It seems as I get older that time starts to move at a much faster pace, giving me less time to do some of the things I wanted to do. It also means that I must make quicker decisions when opportunities present themselves.
Dundalk is presenting some great opportunities for the first time homebuyer AND the investor who utilizes a buy & hold strategy. Lets take a look at market performance in the 1st qtr of 2008.

investor: Awesome Commercial opportunities in Dundalk 21222 - 02/17/08 05:51 AM
Working with investors is a segment of the job that a select number of Realtors do. I thoroughly enjoy working with the small residential investor or the larger commercial investors. Everyday is something new and exciting.
Owning and operating a small business for several years, as well as partnering in larger commercial investments-like strip centers-allows my investors a wealth of experience not seen in many Realtors. That is the main reason that I specialize in the investment side of Real Estate.
Keeping my eyes open to new opportunities for the entrepreneur is an aspect of my job that I take seriously. Starting my day with … (0 comments)

investor: 6 months-how time flies! Is the market good - 02/10/08 01:35 AM
I cannot believe that it has been 6 months since I have posted to this great forum. How time flies!! Has anyone even noticed my absence? (ok everyone needs an ego stroke now and then)
2006 was about networking for growth, name recognition and pretty much just about getting new business anywhere I could, because I was in a new market 700 miles from my old home. Blogs, Direct mail (farm), Radio, Community events, Social Gatherings, church, handing out over 5000 business cards---all played a key role in making 2006 a very successful year.
As many Realtors, along with myself, struggled in 2007, I found … (2 comments)

Well, well, well, How long have I been touting the opportunities available in Dundalk, 21222? Great for the first time home buyer, great for the investor and now, Bill Jones, County BRAC Coordinator, says that "Being right on I-95 would be an attraction, and the planned housing developments in the community could very well make it attractive to new residents" according to the Dundalk Eagle, July 12th issue. Heres the published action plan if you would like to read it.

investor: Life this week-Couldn't we just ease into it? - 03/31/07 03:58 PM

Well I know, for me, from reading on Active Rain and talking to Realtors from all over the Country-This has been a tough winter. It seems that about the middle of December of 2006 someone turned of the Real Estate light switch.
Things slowed down in Baltimore as well. Before November I was averaging a close every 2 weeks with a peak in July of closing  3 per week. This may not seem like much to most of you-but you have to keep in mind that this was my FIRST year licensed in Maryland. (Karen Hurst I wish I read your New Agent blog when I … (8 comments)
