The Eatery at 447 Springfield Avenue (Corner of Woodland Avenue in the Strand Mall), Summit, NJ 07901 is a restaurant with a refreshing concept for eat-in, take-out (including curbside pick up from Woodland) and catering! Located on the upper floor of the Strand Mall in downtown Summit, the decor is clean and bright, very welcoming and offers free wi-fi rather like an "Internet cafe." The menu has been carefull selected with farm to table freshness and healthy eating in mind and the dishes are beautifully presented.
On a recent visit my dining companion and I chose from a delicious array of (1 comments)

Roots Steak House, 401 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901 is part of the Harvest Restaurants Group which also includes 3 West, Ciao Cucina, Huntley Taverne, Tabor Road Tavern, Trap Rock Restaurant & Brewery and Urban Table. I am a real fan of Harvest Restaurants and have dined (several times) at five of them - the other two are on my radar screen. Recently I went for dinner at Roots Steak House, a short distance from my home in Summit, and a venue that is buzzing with activity, happy looking and sounding diners and innovative cuisine. Without doubt, Roots Steak House is (2 comments)

Taka Sushi Restaurant, Summit, New Jersey is one of my family’s favorite places to eat locally. We can walk to the restaurant from our home and, rain or shine, it is always worth the short stroll. My daughters grew up loving Sushi and it was a “requirement” that there was Sushi either on campus or close by when my eldest daughter was looking for a college! Both girls have visited Japan and so Japanese cuisine is part of our family life. I often recommend Taka Sushi to my friends, colleagues, buyers and sellers.

summit: Walking Around Summit, NJ

Walking around Summit, NJ you can see some unusual things that you might not expect! There are the usual dogs and cats and the more unusual sightings of goats, wild turkeys, foxes and the occasional black bear! There is a man here who walks his goat frequently along Springfield Avenue and up and down the residential side streets, including past our house. This goat is very obedient (which I understand is unusual for a goat) and usually walks without a leash, following closely behind its owner.
Sometimes a wild turkey wanders into town and causes havoc! There are quite (0 comments)
summit: Summit, New Jersey's "Northside"

Summit, New Jersey’s “Northside” is a very special place to live. With homes that range from modest two to three bed ranches selling for about $500,000 to $600,000 to mansions with eight bedrooms or more that might cost several million Dollars, it is no wonder that it is a highly sought-after location for Summit buyers. Much of the Northside is within easy walking distance of Summit’s great downtown area complete with its excellent selection of stores, restaurants, movie theatre and train station on the Midtown Direct line with services to both Hoboken and New York’s Penn Station (about 35-45 minutes of (2 comments)
