What's been happening in our current real estate market? What's trending? The housing inventory level is now considered extremely low and is trending toward a sellers market.  Competition amoung sellers continues to be a factor as we have not recovered as quickly as other larger national markets.

Real Estate Market Update - Northwest Suburbs - December 2011 Well last month I reported that I felt the market was slowing down but I was still quite optimistic for the end of the year sales. At the final tally, we did well over the 2010 sales year. Sales are above those levels and I think we can't be stopped from going forward!

The Schaumburg Farmers Market is set to open its season on June 11, 2010 in the parking lot of the American Indian Center’s Trickster Gallery in Town Square, at the intersection of Roselle and Schaumburg Roads.

The impact on foreclosures in our market is substantial and their impact on prices since a buyer would obviously prefer to buy a foreclosure that had the same features as one being offered through a regular seller. It is also having an impact in opposite directions - again, foreclosure sales up and prices go down! As a consequence we have 'Two Levels of Pricing':  distressed sales and traditional sales. Sellers here's some good advice - there's a good amount of information that I've given for sellers preparing their house but there are some things that agents wish they could say to sellers in these instances!  Dead animals adorning the walls (taxidermists), guns out to possibly show the sellers prowess.  These things HAVE TO BE put away for your home to show in it's best light.

You can sell your own home (and be called a FSBO or Fizbo as we say) You can be your own dentist too! I supposed you can even do your own foot surgery when in the mood!
