Today I got an unusual email from Zillow that a home's price had recently dropped? I'm wondering to myself as to why are they telling me this on a listing I had 5 years ago? They are making it seem like they are informing 'me' as if I am the owner. Nope, just an agent that's doing her job.

Zillow using the 'F' word - Falsely reporting owners in foreclosure NBC News Chicago has taken up the story where Zillow has incorrectly reported homeowners in their system as being in foreclosure. On top of making this just maddening, the homeowners really have no recourse with the company because Zillow will not say where the incorrect data comes from. So like a 'reporter standing before the court', Zillow gets to keep it's incorrect resources quiet. But that's really the whole problem with the Zillow system. Well obviously you know who this post is about and what they've done this time. As most agents do, I post to all the online aggregators (leaches and scrapers some say) so that my listings have full and maximum exposure. What I won't put up with is incorrect nonsense while doing so. Zillow produces a weekly report on listing 'views' and sends it to me each week and usually I present it to the seller with a brief description of the weeks hits and clicks. This is a great day for the consumer as the courts are finally looking into the extensive use of AVM's (automated valuation models) like Zillow from Chase who took away home equity lines of credit from consumers! We all know and think fondly when we see this house don't we? Yes, it's the 'Home Alone' House and it's currently for sale in the Chicago Suburb of Winnetka.$2,175,000 for the 1920's stately brick colonial offering 5BR's 3.5BA's and a total of 4,243 square feet. The house is so wonderful to us we can call it our own - I can picture myself sliding down the banister to the front door. This is as good a reason as any for me to write off Yahoo Real Estate! This is the latest advertisement that I received as a Yahoo User and I can certainly say I'm not happy in the least with this partnership. I don't know why everyone feels they have to 'get in bed' with Zillow? Something about the zzzzz's? Well, for me I will just not include my listings as a personal choice. Oh No ..... not Zillow! One of my past clients recently was called into his investment brokers office to go over his account and obviously make any future battle plans that were necessary. This has been a trying time for anyone with any kind of investments and offering a shoulder to cry on was the actual topic of the meeting. This is a follow up post from a phone call and then another phone call from Zillow to me on a previous post I did just a few weeks ago. 'The Ruckus' Zillow provided a data table on my Schaumburg IL area stating the Year over Year market change (-5.8%) which I was in total disagreement with. I provided closed figures that proved them wrong in my area with the current MLS stats. The info that Zillow is using is such an unbelievably broad territory it's going beyond ridiculous. Minding my own real estate business when out of the blue came an email from Zillow telling me my Schaumburg Market Area here in Northwest Chicago had decreased 5.3% and had I been aware of it? WHAT?
