virtual assistant: Why Use A VA? To Focus on Specifics! - 06/05/19 07:05 PM
When you use a VA, they can focus only on specific tasks that you need them to do. This way, you never have to worry about committing to more than you need with a VA. Many agents start off with a specific task that they assign to a VA. These tasks can be anything from handling your lead management or listing marketing to blog writing or cold calling or writing a newsletter.

What one task would you outsource to a VA?

virtual assistant: Keep the Lines of Communication Open - 05/23/19 09:28 AM
One of the biggest things to remember when operating a Virtual Assistance business is to keep the lines of communication open. If a client sets a deadline, communicate how reasonable you believe the deadline will be. If you need to have certain times where you will be unavailable, make sure your clients know. The worse thing is to be out of pocket and your client just feels that you are not responding to them. The breakdown between VA and client happens because of a lack of communication. Don’t let it happen to you.

virtual assistant: Family is Everything - Hanging Out With Family - 09/10/14 12:05 AM
Family is Everything - Hanging Out With Family

That's my youngest sister, Haizle, and my one and only daughter, Sarai at one of many, many (many) family get-togethers. We have lots of cook-outs. We have lots of family dinners. We have lots of family "events." And we have lots and lots (and lots) of fun!
One of the most important things that our family believes in, besides God, is hanging out together. Let's face it... Hanging out together keeps a family together. If you go long periods of time without being with your family, you get used to not … (3 comments)

virtual assistant: You Want to Pay Me How Much to do WHAT? - 01/24/11 03:43 PM
You Want to Pay Me How Much to do WHAT?Recently, I was told that it might be a good idea for me to sign up on a certain online forum to bid on projects posted for Virtual Assistants. (Company name held to protect the not-so-innocent.) I thought it was a great idea. What I found blew me away! After setting up an online profile and taking numerous online tests to declare that I knew what I said I knew, I started browsing through the posted projects on the jobs board.  What I found in the real estate section, posted for a Real … (3 comments)

virtual assistant: Hiring a VA is a Lot Like Potty Training - 08/05/09 01:01 AM
Hiring a VA is a Lot Like Potty Training when you think about it.
Typically when I write posts about my family, I start off by saying that I've got 6 kids.  That usually gives people quite a jolt so I like to say it first so that everyone can digest it and then get the shock out of their system.  (Yes, they're all mine.  Yes, they're all by my husband.)
One of our children is 2.5 years old.  He doesn't want to grow up - EVER. We had to forcibly remove all the pacifiers from the house in order to get him … (6 comments)

virtual assistant: I've Figured It Out: Real Estate Is Like Being Married - 02/19/09 10:20 AM
When I initially started working as a Virtual Assistant for the real estate industry, things were awesome!  I had clients galore - so many that I could be extremely selective in who I chose to work with.  Agents were coming from all over the world, wanting to partner with a VA.  It was absolutely awesome, I tell ya!  Of course, between 2001 and 2006, things were going very well for folks in real estate.  Then, the market turned.
Properties stopped selling as quickly, agents had to start doing a good deal of work to get listings, find buyers, and get their … (74 comments)

virtual assistant: Why Are You Making Me Do This? - 02/10/09 01:18 PM
As a parent, you've probably heard it a thousand times.
Why are you making me not only go to school but get good grades? Why are you making me eat my vegetables? Why are you making me learn to cook? Why are you making me post to my blog? Why are you making me stay in touch with my leads?
Why? Because it's good for you!
Isn't that what we tell our children?  It's good for you.
Getting good grades helps you get into college and get a better job. (Ok, that one isn't exactly true.)  Eating your vegetables makes you healthy.  If you can … (11 comments)

virtual assistant: Are You Speaking English? OR Communication Is Key! - 02/05/09 04:31 AM
As many of you know, we've got a few kids, 6 to be exact. Our oldest, Kennyth who is 13, is allowed to use the Internet only with supervision and with restrictions. Those restrictions include no chat rooms, no message forums, nothing that requires him to provide any personal information about himself. He is allowed to use Yahoo Instant Messenger but we have to approve anyone he messages there. So far, the people on his list include his cousins and one friend from school.
Yesterday, Kennyth needed to extract himself from the computer so that he could do his chores. Peering … (5 comments)

virtual assistant: Making Your Connections Count! - 01/10/09 10:20 AM
How many of you really make the most of your connections?  I mean, REALLY?  Are you utilizing the contacts you have to help grow your business?  I wonder.  For at least 80% of the people who have connections on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and the myriad other social networking sites, I'm going to guess that they don't.  And here's why...
Most people don't know HOW to make the most of their connections.  So, in order to assist you in doing just that, here are 5 ways to make your connections work for you:

virtual assistant: What Are You Looking At? - 01/08/09 02:58 AM
When you were in high school and you heard that phrase yelled out, it usually meant someone was getting picked on, didn't it?  "What are you looking at!?"

When did you last get caught looking at someone or something with such obvious interest that everyone around you noticed you looking?  Was it someone dressed in a way you felt was totally inappropriate?  Was it an advertisement that was completely ridiculous?  What?

As you are planning your marketing for 2009, why not try to be the one that people are looking at?  How can you do that?

Be original! I'm … (3 comments)

virtual assistant: Why Do You Charge So Much? - 09/02/08 08:58 AM
OR I Can Get An On-site Assistant for $10 Per Hour! What The Heck?
I have propects contacting me on a weekly basis...at least 3-4 per week.  Most of these "prospects" aren't really prospects.  You know what I mean - they are just like real estate "looky-loos;" those people who aren't really serious about making a move, they're just looking to see what's out there.  Well, as a Virtual Assistant my "looky-loos" are pretty much the same thing - tire kickers.  They aren't really ready to utilize a VA, they're just "gathering information."
One of the biggest stall factors I've found … (7 comments)

virtual assistant: Who Needs A "Mommy's Helper??" Me! Me! Me! Me! Meeeeee! - 08/19/08 07:38 AM
Ok, the time has come where I'm recovered enough (???) from having my delicious twins (yes, I bite them often (but not hard) because their cheeks are so puffy and they taste soooo good!) that I'm ready to kick it up into high gear.  You see our goal is for my husband to quit his quite lucrative job with Sprint to work for me as my tech support go-to guy. In order to do that, I need to pick up at least 5 more clients.  In order to do that, I can't keep going "business as usual."
I need a Mommy's Helper.
