Recently a relatively new web site provider has been making an attempt to become the site provider for the agents in my office. They claim to be able to provide more leads to agents by distributing listings to more portals and classified directories thus getting listings more exposure than they would normally get. We decided to beta test them with 12 agents in the office for a 2 month period to get an idea of what the results would be like. Timing the real estate market is much like shooting an arrow at a target in a wind storm. Eventhough the Atlanta market has experienced a slow down, as has much of the country, this market remains one of the most stable. The following statistics are from FMLS, one of the two listing services for the Atlanta Area. For Single Family Properties - the month of September, 2006 there were 5108 closings, down 14.5% from 9/05 and an $258,278 average sale price was up 1% from 9/05. For Condo and Townhomes - for the month of September, 2006 there were 899 closings, down 15% from 9/05 and an $193,338 average sale price was up 1.2% from 9/05.
