Trulia reports that average home listing prices continued to drop at the end of November, 2011. The average list price of a home in the 54814 zip code area fell to $199,941 as of November 30th, down 0.7% from the prior week.
The average list price of a Bayfield, Wisconsin home has dropped 2.5%, or $5229, since November 9, 2011. The number of available listings in 54814 also dropped nearly 5% during the month of November, 2011.

The article includes an interactive map and a trip planner called "Pre-trip fun for kids". The trip planner for youngsters is custom-tailored by age. There are also tabs on the site for "Things to do", "Places to Eat" and "Places to Stay". The information on the Apostle Islands appears under the heading "Things to do in Wisconsin".

This past summer, a camera crew from the Live Well Network arrived on Madeline Island to shoot several segments which highlight area attractions. The segments included one on shipwreck diving off Madeline Island, a feature about the Apostle Islands sea caves and another about the Bayfield Inn.

Unfortunately, the "Market Update" available there is from 2006.
Claiming to be an "Advisor" to buyers and sellers is a lofty goal. But when you profess to offer relevant market information, shouldn't that information be gathered from within the past six months? Or at very least, shouldn't it be about the 2011 market?

Our company, Madeline Island Realty, has listed and sold properties in Bayfield, Wisconsin (which Islanders refer to as "across the pond") in the past. Bayfield is a wonderfully charming town with it's own history and beauty, very different in some ways from that on Madeline Island.

Yesterday was a lousy day to take an autumn walk in the rain on Madeline Island.
At midday, the temperature was in the upper 40s and it was pouring. The streets in LaPointe were full of flowing water and the view across two miles of Lake Superior facing the Bayfield mainland was obscured by low, heavy clouds and streaks of rain.
It was not what you'd call the best weather for enjoying the Apostle Islands.

You find some of the most interesting stuff on Google.
I was just searching the Web for a listing and found myself on one of those do-it-yourself sites that cater to the "For Sale by Owner" crowd. Agents advertise themselves there as well. That particular site permits you to browse listings by zip code and when I searched "54850", an ad popped up for a female agent who is marketed on that site as a "Madeline Island Property Specialist". The site also states that she is a "Madeline Island real estate agent".

Broadband consumers have forgotten the old adage, "garbage in, garbage out".
In a world of fast processors and Web-optimized browsers, there is an air of unreality about "wireless broadband". In rural and low population density areas, it's often more like worthless broadband.
Obviously, the tasks you perform online will only crank as fast as your wireless broadband signal allows. When your wireless signal is weak or nonexistent, you may not be able to download files & programs, or upload information to the Web, without difficulty.

We receive a lot of compliments on our Madeline Island Realty three-panel listing brochure and our one-page listing flyers.
One of my listing clients asked me the other day why we take the time to desktop publish our listing brochures and flyers. I responded by saying that pre-printed listing flyers are, in my opinion, a waste of money. They don't allow for price changes or photo substitutions. They also don't allow for new or withdrawn listings.
